  1. Well, Sheets is the Brewers version of Wood/Prior.
  2. Going to the top of the 3rd COL 0 MIL 0
  3. 3 outs to go to get to 3 1/2 back. :D
  4. They just had a little blurb on BBT on ESPN and Tim Kurkjin or whatever it is, said that he talked to 1 owner today about Cuban and he said that Cuban is scary. Tim does not think that the ownners will allow Cuban in.
  5. Wind is blowing out tomorrow 15-25 mph. The drought will end. 8-)
  6. Hang in there, they will come.
  7. Nope......He's better.
  8. Can you say 3 1/2 GB?
  9. What did he say? Asked if he would be happy with Mark Cuban as the owner, Z said "yes, because he is like me. He has a temper" and that "he would sign me." And Arod.
  10. Mark my words, if Cuban buys the Cubs and it is complete by the fall, Arod will be the Cubs opening day starting SS. 8-)
  11. [/quo Could it be? Could we really get Jr.? We did get Nomar. We shall see.
  12. The union might have something to say about that too. I don't think the union would have the right to complain. If he chooses to opt out he's voiding the remainder of his current contract and whatever he negotiates with the Cubs (or any other team) would be a completely new contract, not a renegotiation of an existing contract. Regardless of his current contract, the union is in the business of not letting players sign contracts for significantly less than they are worth because it negatively affects other players in their contract discussions. I agree with you to a degree. However, look at Aramis. He left a lot of money on the table to return to the Cubs. I never said that the Cubs should lowball him. If somehow the Cubs could come up with a competitive offer. Maybe slightly below the lowest contract offered. If he accepts, then that is his choice, the Union can't say squat.
  13. In all honesty, I can see a situation where Lou says "Look Alex, you have more money than you can ever spend in you life time now....with new ownership, we will pay you what we can, just come on in and lets get some things going here in Chicago. We will get you that ring." Boras will have none of it I'm sure.
  14. Also, I'm not sure where I read this, but the Cubs have had scouts at Rangers games scouting Gagne. That would be a huge pick up IMO. Considering the news of Wood being activated at the end of July.....maybe if no set backs. That would give Dempster plenty of time to let his oblique properly heal, and be fresh and rested for Aug. and Sept. With Marmol, Wood, Gagne and Dempster at the end of games....wow, just wow. Granted, it is anyones guess if Wood will even pitch 1 inning in the big leagues this year....If not, just relpace Wood with Petrick. Use Ohman as a LOOGY and throw in Wuertz...thats a nice pen.
  15. Gange's numbers look pretty good. Did he get his velocity back? If so he would be a nice addition. From what I hear, his velocity is not what it once was, however, he has learned the art of "pitching." His fastball tops out in the low 90s now. Still throws hard, but not 98 or 99 like he was.
  16. 1-0 Nats Lopez homers!!!
  17. With Demps setback, we at least have to kick the tires on Gagne. This oblique could give him problems the rest of the season.
  18. the stuff you come up with sometimes, fred... you should really be getting paid for this. Yes indeed.
