  1. Has anyone seen Bruce lurking in here tonight? He might be able to help us out.
  2. If I remember right, I think Burnett and Dempster were pretty good friends from their Marlins days. Maybe Dempster could wine him and dine him like Roy did in Toronto.

  4. Can anyone take a guess at what kind of deal Burnett would get from us?
  5. I like Burnett. Although I would like to have Millwood as my #1 choice, my guess is he re-signs with the Tribe. Burnett has awesome stuff, but could he be another Woody? Only time will tell. As far as the outfield, i would bet that we will have Kearns sometime this winter. Just a guess.
  6. Didn't he post pretty decent numbers in 04 with the fish?
  7. I think Hendry will address the starting pitching as well. Hoops, wasnt Pavano hurt at some point this season? I think he was, but can't remember to what extent.
  8. I have to wonder if the Cubs want a high maintinance player like Manny. He never showed up for the Latino All Time greats which I would think would be an honor. I love his bat but not his glove and I would like some kind of assurance that he's not going to pout about money if the Cubs do trade for him. I have a feeling he will want an extension and I'm not sure the Cubs should go in that direction. I would not want to give him an extension, but this organization has to make a splash somehow. The very least they could do is check in with the Red Socks and see what it would take.
  9. Not unless you want to give up Pie, Williams and Hill. And that might not even be enough. Who cares. We gave up Garland, Willis, Joe Carter and I'm sure many others. Who did we get in return? My point. If we are going to give up top prospects, at least get an All Star in return. Manny would be a huge boost to the offense. Prospects are just that, prospects. Use them to your advantage. Dont get me wrong, i would not make a habit of doing this, I dont want this to be like the Yankee farm system, but this is Manny. I want to win, and the only way to do that is to take some chances. I agree with your general sentiment, but like I said, I'm not even sure if that would be enough, and I'm not crazy about giving up the best positional prospect in the system. It's got to depend on how much money Boston puts in too. You have to remember that since Manny is demanding a trade I think it puts Boston behind the 8-ball a little. Very true. The question is, is Hendry and Co. even looking at this possibility. If it were me, I would look into it very hard.

  11. I think we do. It would be a matter of would he want to come here. I have always thought ManRam would he great at Wrigley.
  12. I really think you might be on to something here. Hendry does want a long term solution to the outfield situation, and has had a trading relationship with Boston. If we could get Soriano and spin him off to the Sox for Manny, as long as they ate some of his contract, that would be a huge offensive upgrade. Defensivley....well....... But if anyone could make this happen and come out smelling like a rose, its good ole Jim Hendry.
  13. Can we all imagine Dunn hitting at Wrigley with the wind blowing out everyday. TOO SWEET
  14. Hi all. First post ever!!! Just wanted to say that i have been a long time viewer, and decided to join. NSBB is great. Just my 2 cents on the Dunn rumer, now that Woody is hurt AGAIN......, would you still give up Hill?
