    Here goes.... 1. I would get Griffey at all costs, overpay if you have to, just get him. 2. I would get Gagne. Shore up the pen. Wood is coming, but for how long? Anyones guess. The nucleous of this team is fairly young with Theriot, Fonty, SOTO, Sori is not going anywhere, same for Aram, and DLee. Z, Hill, and Marshall are pups...then you have Marmol and Wuertz.....again still young. That said, our rotation (banking on we re-sign Z) will be set for awhile. Lilly for 3 more years and as much as I hate it, Marquis for 2 more. Not to mention maybe just maybe a Healthy Prior for 08. :shock: Our basic holes for the near future would be Center, assuming Pie would be needed for Griffey, 2 or 3 arms for the pen, and maybe right once Griffey leaves or retires. The farm system is a nice thing to dip into to get the right pieces of the puzzle. The Braves have the right idea. A power bat and a nice arm in the pen. This is the best shot the Cubs have had to win it in awhile. We haven't won in 99 years....I'm ready now. Lets go for it. I'm sure I'll get ripped for it.....however, I would like to know what you think

    This whole Griffey thing kinda has the same feel as the Nomar trade. Small talk here, small take there, but nobody actually thought it would happen. I'm not sure either way. I get the feeling we get Griffey, or do nothing. The exact same feeling I had before Nomar......

    It would be a classy move by the Reds to trade him to a contender. Kinda like we did with Maddux last year. The Reds will take 3 or 4 years to get back to competing again anyway.
