Ray McDonald is a complete piece of [expletive] -- but the outrage over the signing is inconsistent with what occurs in the NFL every season. He was accused of assault, not charged, and then when he was charged, they released him. It was a low-risk (no guaranteed $), high-reward move. It blew up and they cut him. Just about every NFL team has employed athletes who have been accused of (or charged with) serious crimes. Assault/battery (domestic and otherwise), DUI, reckless endangerment, gun charges... guys accused of and/or charged with these are still in the league -- even when the crimes or accusations are felonious. It sucks to feel like you have to cheer for horrible human being who plays on your team, but that dilemma is just a part of the NFL and the rest of pro sports.
