  1. i commute out by oak park but still want to live in the city...access to LSD (which in my experience moves much better during the morning rush as a N/S artery than the kennedy) is huge for me. i'd love to walk to work but i don't want to live in the burbs, so i deal with it. i don't really hate my 1:45 or so in the car every day. West Town has your name all over it!
  2. I lived in LS East for 2 months and it wasn't my favorite, but I did live in Printer's Row (which is technically "downtown") and it was awesome. Being able to walk to work 5 days per week and "commute" to the cool stuff on weekends was pure bliss. Life-changing.
  3. sure. if you work near there. otherwise there is zero chance i'd consider living there. and parking for guests is horrendous. lower wacker used to be an option but later on when the meters got sold they implemented a 2 or 3 hour limit (or maybe 4, can't remember, but there was a limit) 24/7. which means when i'd crash on his couch i had to pay like $20 to park in the garage. I agree... but it's [expletive] downtown. Just take public transportation!
  4. bumpkins refer to any part of a big city as downtown, i've learned over the years this is true Around the NYC area people say "going into the city" but I always heard suburban chicagoans say "going downtown" no matter where they were going inside the city limits. Well, to be fair, most of the cool [expletive] in Chicago isn't downtown. yup. i almost never go there and i have no idea what the allure is. friend of mine couldn't believe i didn't want to move to lakeshore east, where, not only does it suck and there is nothing to do without walking for miles or driving/cabbing dealing with the horrific traffic, but i probably would've gotten a 10'x10' studio for what my rent is. There are a lot of benefits, too. Close to grocery store, close to lake, close to lots of office buildings (shorter commute), lots of new construction, good views, close to parks...
  5. bumpkins refer to any part of a big city as downtown, i've learned over the years this is true Around the NYC area people say "going into the city" but I always heard suburban chicagoans say "going downtown" no matter where they were going inside the city limits. maybe it's further out burbs. i grew up in the very near north burbs (skokie) and if we said downtown, we meant downtown. but we're under 5 minutes from the city limits. Same. But yeah, Skokie borders the city.
  6. ESPN Gamecast showed him watch 3 balls out of the zone. i switched to the SF broadcast for a second just to see what all the bitching was about and they were talking about how schwarber had nothign to argue about and strike 3 was definitely a strike. then the non jon miller guy (kuiper? krukow?) speculated that schwarber must have peeked at posey's glove before the pitch and expected a ball and thus have been arguing based on that. Jesus H. I can't wait bury these guys and see them scuffle for the rest of the month.
  7. what'd they do The atmosphere is just very obnoxious between innings and doesn't match the aesthetic of the park. Loud music, mascot running around on the dugout, in game reporter, etc. To hear that they were complaining about our video board or music volume was funny to me in light of this.
  8. The Giants took a cool stadium in AT&T Park and made it feel like a [expletive] basketball game. These clowns have no right to complain about music being too loud.
  9. David Kaplan is what happens when a shriveled penis shops at Men's Wearhouse.
  10. He's such a clown and so fun to troll.
  11. Heyman reporting that Pirates landed Soria #hugetits
  12. @Ken_Rosenthal: Told even more players in Hamels deal than what is being reported by others: Hamels, Diekman, cash for Alfaro, Williams, Eickhoff, Asher.
