  1. Yeah, Grimm walked a guy on 4 extremely close pitches, Montero made a horrible throw and Castro didn't block it, and then he got a flyout, a groundout, and a K. Not really on him that the run scored.
  2. While we're airing grievances, I also dislike "RBIs" vs "RBI."
  3. David Kaplan doesn't know what a tailor is. I [expletive] love this team.
  4. what pisses me off is that the Boston media has basically been exported to the national media. ever since Simmons became a thing, i guess various national sports outlets, or maybe just 1, think we just want to watch Boston fans talk about Boston sports and then sit there on screen, making weird faces and waiting to talk about Boston sports again. literally no one cares about Boston sports except people in Boston. This article was once the featured story on the front page of ESPN.com.
  5. When DeRo came to bat, that's the loudest I've heard Wrigley. After? Complete silence the rest of the game. Absolutely.
  6. I have the #2 pick. If AP is available, I have to take him, right?
  7. I've gotten lucky with getting tickets, but I have been to 5 consecutive home playoff losses. 2008 NLDS Game 1 -- Dempster sucks NLDS Game 2 -- Errorz! 2007 NLDS Game 3 -- Rich Hill & DP-DeRo 2003 NLCS Game 6 I was at the 98 tie breaker, which was awesome, but yeah.
  8. Yessss I am out of town until that afternoon, so now I can make it.
  9. I mean, that sucked, but it was a good series overall. Are you guys really worried about the pen? It's been a strength of this team for the vast majority of the season.
  10. Lester is due up second -- do you think about letting him hit for himself?
  11. Check Lester's line since the first. :hello:
  12. it's just a thing they've been doing all year, mostly for big hits but sometimes they do it on any old hit It's because Castro touches his head a lot. It's a team joke.
  13. Hahaha love Lester getting a hit against Stl.
  14. Jake Arrieta:
  15. I loved "la (laugh aloud)", personally.
  16. That's great! But like, half of those are wrong.
  17. Do we have a repository of the walk up songs and the 9th inning closer situation music? I "know" the songs but don't know what they are called.
  18. I thought this was a drunk driving joke at first.
  19. Their pitching has overachieved to amazingly unsustainable proportions. Their offense hasn't really been able to hit much this year. Not really. They have a extremely high strand rate, but they've still pitched great, just better than their FIP, which is still second to only the Dodgers in all of baseball. So no, they haven't overachieved to amazingly unsustainable proportions. And whenever a team gets blown out, they look terrible. Judging their season performance based off the last two games is silly as the people who judge players off having a bad post season series. But I get it, your Cubs fans who hate the Cardinals, so logic isn't really what you're going to be using when evaluating a rival. U M.A.D.D., bro?
