  1. The Old Style letters? No, although those were bad enough. Now they're doing Cub fan standup. Makes me want to jam Q-Tips in my ears. Haha I like the Old Style letters, but I can't stand the one about the guy who gets a bear cub. And that Budweiser song has been stuck in my head for days, along with George Clooney's sexy narraration voice  EDIT: What do the lyrics "This is who I am, this is where I'm from, this is what I believe in" have to do with the following lyrics "this is beer"? WTF?
  2. I'm definitely a supporter of "P Nev" I'd prefer the more corny "7th Nevin." lol I almost typed that, but it really makes little sense. Maybe that's why it's so funny
  3. BREAKING NEWS (per espn.com) Clemens gives up a homer and a double!
  4. Hacker is an excellent beer. Problem is, they're wheat based which I hear makes you naturally tired after drinking - true for me at least. I really like Spaten Premium Lager if I can find it. That's why I use the Hacker to wash down the amphetamines.
  5. The bottom line is all of this is Hendry is not going to trade Jones, regardless of how he plays. Agreed. People need to stop thinking about how to trade Jacques Jones for the time being. JJ will be a Cub for at least 2 FULL years. How do you know some dumb desperate GM won't make a great offer in hopes of contending this year and saving his job? Maybe if Washinton ends up dealing Soriano we could get involved... Soriano to the Yanks, JJ to DC, Melky to the Cubs! I can dream, can't I?
  6. Hasn't Hill been awesome all year at Iowa anyway? Low walks, and a good BB/K ratio, as well as a very good ERA. Yet, when he comes up, for whatever reason, he loses control and composure. I'm sure his most recent numbers in AAA are good for his confidence, but I'm not going to get too excited until he shows that he can control himself in the actual NL.

  8. Why? Well if the difference between the hitters' OPS is .040, and OPS+ shows that the lower hitter is below average, whereas the higher hitter is "decently above" average, it would appear that something is either incorrect, or at least skewed. I actually like OPS+, but this seems a little off to me. The difference between Walker and Grudz last season was .088 (300 OBP vs 388, for example) and it's significant enough. Walker's OPS+ was 115, Grudz was at 92. Looks right in line to me. Side note: OPS+ adjusts for both the league and the park the player plays in. OK then there was bad information given. Thanks. Edit: and I forgot Grudz is in the AL this year

  10. I think the issue would be if he had shown up the opposing team. However, I don't feel that was the case here. It wasn't like he made any gestures toward SF, he was just excited. Floyd talking about the "rammifications"? Gimme a break.
  11. That's a pretty unfortunate situation. I definitely recognize the guy. My prayers go out to his family
  12. Anyone else feel like they're becoming a medical expert with all the crap we have to analyze throughout all of these injuries?
  13. Neifi I know we're talking about playing against the Cubs, but his '98 homer vs. SF literally saved us that season. :P
  14. Yeah, it's not. Anyone know our record vs the central? 14-10 before today. That's not even bad. Too bad the west really screwed us.
