  1. That honor goes to Kansas State's mascot. They just stick a big wildcat head on a normal guy with a jersey. http://www.cjonline.com/photos/galleries/122901_ksupep/images/01.jpg I messed up on Big Red. I was actually referring to Lil' Red, Nebraska's other mascot. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/98/Lil_red.jpg I literally lol'd at that pathetic attempt at a mascot
  2. FREE AIR WILLY! btw, put the miner in the poll already! I wanna vote for him!
  3. Grossman. Griese might do better (not inc. today, when he clearly would have been), but if he doesn't do well, it's not like we can just put Rex back in
  4. I HOPE he gets beat up. That stupid leprechaun. Even outside of ND, I like human mascots if the alternative is a stupid big furry thing. ESPECIALLY if the stupid big furry thing could just as easily be a human (Purdue Pete, Sparty). How about Penn St.'s Lion? It might as well be just a guy. The suit is so thin it's comical.
  5. Ok that's fair, but to be annoyingly picky, so is the Irish
  6. What about the Spartan? However, my vote would go to the UTEP miner: http://cache.nmn.speedera.net/pics22/640/DS/DSTDXYZRAOEZDKT.20051117185513.gif
  7. three step drop and the guy is in his face and to you it's all his fault. No one was in his face, and if there was, he should have used his feet or thrown it away, rather than throwing it into Leber's chest. No not Devon too! yes. Rex should be Joe Montana. the play is designed to be a three stop drop and get rid of the ball. he ran the play as it was called but two guys were pouring in on him before he even got into a THREE step drop. So the only example of a QB being at fault is when he has absolutely no pressure and throws the ball directly to a wide-open defender, or...? another A = B, B = C, therefore Y = cherry pie. :?: I just want to hear, in your opinion, what Rex has done wrong today. Everytime he does something, be it a bad decision or a bad pass, you talk about how it wasn't his fault.

  9. With Rex sniffing his nose in the cold it looked like he was crying
  10. They weren't booing, they were saying "GOOOOOOSE" Siragusa is a huge fan favorite
  11. As long as he doesn't try to make stuff happen that's not there, I'm fine with him
  12. They played Oregon State and Hawai'i. Wow. I didn't even realize.
  13. I know they're not going to get it, and probably rightfully so, but I think someone should at least mention Boise State. I mean, they didn't play anyone, but they are getting very little credit for finishing 12-0.
  14. ah, so they would get to Mike Hart quickly before they bounce off of him. that's it. I'm done. you sir, are absurd. I'm being realistic but you have the top 3 teams in the Big 10 as good as the NFL. I haven't seen or read a thing from you about an honest evaluation of the top 3 Big 10 teams other than they are the best or better than the Big East. OK I'll try: Ohio St -- you said they were the best team in the country and almost everyone agrees. So I think I'll leave it at that. Michigan -- only loss was to best team in the country (are they now the 2nd best? I don't know, but rankings have them top 3). Beaten several good teams. Wisconsin -- didn't have to play OSU, but only loss was to Michigan. Clearly the worst of the three teams, because they didn't really have to play anyone that was a legit good team other than Michigan. I guess it's who you've beaten vs. who you lost to, right? We can speculate, but that's all we have to go on. Louisville, Rutgers, and WV haven't really played any good or special teams except each other, and they've each lost at least one of those games. So maybe Louisville could beat Wisconsin because they've played 2 good teams whereas Wisconsin has only played 1. It would be a good game (I mean, it's still #6 vs. #7) but I just think that the Big Ten is a better conference. 8 out of the 11 teams have a loss from playing the best team in the country. I just give the Big 10 the benefit of the doubt here.
  15. It's funny. I could change the word "East" to "Ten" and the statement would still be true. great. now you too. mmmk. no it would not. name me the Big East equivalents of Minnesota, Indiana, and Iowa. you cannot. why do you guys keep this up? it's really the silliest sustained argument in favor of an untennable position I can remember in all my time on this board. Yeah, I don't get that either. Ohio St. and Michigan are both really good, Wisconsin is good (that's three BCS teams right there). Are South Florida, Cincy, and Pittsburgh better than Penn St., Purdue, and Minnesota? I don't think so. I take it you win every bet you make since you always know what teams are better? God, UConn which finished in last....last beat Indiana in Indiana. Talk about not getting it. I don't quite understand what you're getting at -- that UConn is a better overall team than Indiana? UConn lost to Syracuse (and I'm sure you're well aware of that team's talents). And Syracuse finished in last, btw. After Ohio St, Michigan, and Wisconsin, I don't think the Big 10 is "crap". The Big East after Louisville, Rutgers, and West Virginia may not necessarily be crap, but I think that the Big 10 has much stronger teams. I mean, I think Wisconsin could beat anyone in the Big East, and they're the Big 10's 3rd team. (You could look at rankings alone)

  17. If used correctly steroids can help out a player a lot though. They can, but 'roids don't help players connect with the ball and guess pitches. For steroids to be effective you still need contact. They also don't help pitchers throw strikes -- they still have to be able to hit their spots (for the most part). If we're going to ban those who did (or are even accused of doing) steroids, then we definitely need to kick out everyone who stole signs (an action which helped a player know what a pitch was, enabling them to make better contact) as well as every pitcher who used pinetar, spit etc. (actions which unnaturally made it harder to a hitter to make contact). I'm fine if we're going to do that, but if we're going to talk about taking action, lets be consistent.
