Nice. I can't wait till "Scotty Pods" comes back and Guillen throws his awesome OBP into the top spot of the lineup and runs that team into the ground. Alfonso Soriano's career OBP: .325 Scott Posednik's career OBP: .342 Soriano's 3-year split OBP from the leadoff spot: .354 (706 ABs) Podsednik's 3-year split OBP from the leadoff spot: .330 (1644 ABs) Mostly due to the fact that Alf's a fastball hitter and he'll see more batting leadoff, but it's still worth mentioning.

No, I'm not truly convinced yet. It hasn't reached the level of Darwinism yet, really, and it's become a heavily political movement, which makes me (unfairly or not) even more skeptical. However, I haven't ruled it out, and it's not like I don't have respect for people who do believe that it's a problem. That being said, even if it is, I really don't see what we, as Americans, can do about it. Do we lower production while China and India continue to pollute at astronomical rates (and they will be even larger polluters in the coming years) based on something that has not been completely accepted in the scientific community and end up losing ground economically? I don't think so. Not yet, anyway. -

I don't need court documents to know that Sammy's physical development required something more than a normal workout routine. I think you'll also see a transformation in his body from 2005 to 2007. Strange how a seemingly washed-up player goes away for a year and comes back bigger and hitting home runs again. Hmmm, I wonder... But don't ask Sammy about it, he can only speak English when he's praising himself. Umm, we already had this discussion on this thread. If you go back about 11 pages, I'm sure you'll find everyone's response to this kind of nonsense.

I thought it was pretty obvious that the blood was fake when I first saw it. I would assume he'd be wearing a bandage after his ankle was stitched up, which means that the blood would have to seep all the way through the bandage after a popped stitch. I just don't see it. I was thinking the same thing. That would've been a lot of blood for it to soak through and make that large a spot. So what you're saying is that starting a playoff game on national TV was not enough attention for Schilling. After all, they almost never show the starting pitcher during a baseball game. So he comes up with this cunning plan, I'll draw attention to myself by making it look like my ankle is bleeding because, after all, during most telecasts, the camera does at least 500 close ups of the starting pitcher's ankle. If any of that is true credit, Schilling for being a genius. A hearty tip of the cap for exposing the absurdity of Fox's baseball coverage. I prefer to think that this is just sour grapes on the part of Yankee fans. Well I wasn't explicitly saying that, I was just saying that I wouldn't be surprised it was fake because it seemed like it would be an uncanny amount of blood for it to soak through a bandage and sock.

Since April 13 (47 PA) his BA has been .302 OBP: .361 SLG: .721 Thats an OPS of 1.082, although someone might want to check my numbers. :shock: I can't wait until the summer months...
