  1. Law: http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/draft/2011/insider/columns/story?columnist=law_keith&page=LawMockDraft4.0 1) Cole 2) Rendon 3) Bauer 4) Archie Bradley 5) Bundy 6) Starling 7) Hultzen 8) Jed Bradley 9) Baez Doesn't really sound like he has a good lead on us. I don't know how much stock i'd put into this. Dream scenario for Arizona. Not sure if Washington passes on Hultzen. Not sure why Bundy wasn't even mentioned in Baltimore's blurb. Pretty much a wort case for us. We need Bradley there at least.
  2. Meh. I was hoping we'd get a little more dirt on the eve of the draft.
  3. If Lindor doesn't go 2, I wouldn't be surprised to see him fall into the late teens/early 20's. Maybe i'm wrong though.
  4. Don't know how true this is (this is coming from a poster who I don't know if he is legit), but from prosportsdaily forum:
  5. I'm a bit confused on Starling's power. Are we talking about a 20-25 HR kind of guy if things work out, or is it really plus/plus-plus and possibly pushing 40 kind of thing if everything works out? I know it's probably tough to tell with so much projection involved...
  6. Could be huge news. Apparently Churchill said that the M's are looking to take Lindor at 2. I am not a subscriber, but I think it was here. http://prospectinsider.com/view/latest-draft-notes/ Pretty much means Washington gets an arm and Starling slides to us, if true. I read it here btw: http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=608957&page=42
  7. I think Baez is probably after Starling and (hopefully) Bradley.
  8. Sorry guys, yeah I'm talking about the prosportsdaily forums. I'd link it but I'm on an iPod touch. Just go to the cubs forums and go to the draft thread. The poster is Marlon bystro...he's as legit as they come. Had some pena contract numbers weeks before the public knew, was spot on with the garza trade details and I remember he reported something on the sczur signing that turned out right as well. Sounded like he knew something when he said no springer or mahtook.
  9. Fwiw, a poster on psd who's absolutely got contacts in the org. and has called numerous transactions before said Springer or Mahtook (who was mentioned as a possible pick) won't be our pick at 9.
  10. I don't think you can say Springer is anywhere close to an 'inexplicable reach" though. I mean, Hayden Simpson...Tyler Colvin...those were inexplicable reaches. Picking a guy at 9 who's projected to go around 14 isn't a reach. It's a preference.
  11. Not sure if this should go in discussions or transactions, but... https://twitter.com/#!/MicahGibbs That's Micah Gibbs' twitter. Sczur apparently retweeted it. Not sure who it would be for...but i'd definitely be excited to see what he's got.
  12. Keith Law: and Stole those off of PSD.
  13. Anything can happen with fast risers, but i'm not seeing Sonny making it to 9. Hopefully though.

  16. So, we spotted a girl at the game yesterday that looked like Barney and it turned out to be his sister. My drunk friend then asked to take a picture with her, and she gave the WTF look and said "with me??!!?" and kindly obliged. Very awkward for her, considering my friend thought we made up the name Darwin Barney the entire time (he's a Sox fan...but he got the hook up on some behind home plate seats).
  17. Don't know how they have been doing it with Spring Training games, but it's a couple minutes after 3 and the game today is not blacked out on 676.
  18. Anyone want to give their opinion on Matt Barnes and Archie Bradley? They're some of the few top end guys I don't really know much about and figure to go right around our pick.
  19. Surprised it wasn't mentioned, but Levine said that Barney and Baker would be at 2nd with Dewitt backing them up.
  20. Law says the Dbacks are in love with Hultzen (they have two picks in front of us).
