  1. It was probably mentioned, but the most obvious thing (and we had heard about it before) was that he was essentially pulling a Rizzo and standing on top of he plate.
  2. That feel when you find a loophole in the swear filter:
  3. Meaning what? There seems to be more people upset now that the Cubs didn't make a move for a pitcher than there were at the deadline. There especially seemed to be more last week when our shot at the division was marginally better. It made even more sense to make a move when the playoff odds were lower. Yeah, what the heck. The time to play it safe is when you have a comfortable lead in the playoff race, not when every win and loss could mean the difference between getting in and being left out. I'm not going to overly criticize since we don't know what was being demanded, but it's absolutely OK to be disappointed on the surface.
  4. Someone's probably mentioned it at some point, and not that it matters, but has a non-Allstar ever won the Cy Young before? I'm guessing yes.
  5. Was at portillos and once I heard, I sprintrd out like a complete idiot with a half eaten beef sandwich in one hand, rushed home, and successfully got there in time for (literally) the last pitch.
  6. YES. He made some adjustments. the stance is basically the same but his posture is better he isnt dropping his right shoulder.. still, he needs to tweak the angle just a tad to hit more liners. he has had a lot of moonshot barely over the fence homers at home. he doesn't get the same luxury on the road in most cases. still i've said all along he is a great player. but he can be even better, which is scary. It took me a few sentences to realize you weren't actually critiquing the 12 year old.
  7. Petition to call every basket HR a #ninjadong.
  8. So Twitter says Tommy Birch was arrested in a prostitution sting (soliciting). Woof. http://m.kcci.com/news/20-people-just-named-in-des-moines-metro-prostitution-sting/34806606
  9. Or if they don't know anything about semi-advanced stats, congratulate them that Chris Sale and Dan Haren are pretty much sporting the same ERA.
  10. Maybe Alexei shouldn't have been taunting him right before that pitch. Yeah, it was pretty douchy. Maybe early in the game people would have taken it as a weird joke, but it's gonna piss Strop off on the biggest pitch of the game. And it seemed like he was wagging abnormally long for some stupid reason.
  11. He clearly did that because of the Ramirez double finger wag at him for like 8 seconds right? Pretty sure he was staring Alexei down when those fists were pumping.
  12. I don't know if this applies to you specifically, but this thought that sports stars are commonly falsely accused of rape to extort money is nonsense. It happens far far less than you think. Edit: I just caught up on the entire convo and see this was kind of already pointed out. My bad for repetitiveness.
  13. Poor Alshton.
  14. Dongs left and right. Well, I guess just from the left.
  15. A small part of me hopes that's actually a bottle of grey goose.
  16. Peavy still bitching in the dugout to Schwarber. "I mean what the [expletive] is that? What the [expletive] are you even doing?" For those that didn't see, Schwarber did abaolutely nothing but look in Peavy's direction after a pitch while he was taking his warmup cuts after a pitch.
  17. Peavy "what are you looking at!!???" What a douchebag.
