  1. My guess would be something like Jones for a reliever and a prospect, then Pie called back up.
  2. http://story.scout.com/a.z?s=304&p=2&c=644765&ssf=1&RequestedURL=http%3a%2f%2fstory.scout.com%2fa.z%3fs%3d304%26p%3d2%26c%3d644765 That's the intro, and they have a picture of Wieters right next to it. I'm not a scout.com insider, but someone told me it said that they were "talking contract" with Wieters. If anyone has an account please tell us everything it says. ---And of course, any chance in hell KC would pass as well? /wishfull thinking
  3. BOO OZZIE! Let's see if Marquis can get nasty tommorrow.
  4. Could you tell if his fastball location was as good as advertised? Anything you noticed on his secondary pitches?
  5. I'm fine if with dealing Z if the right deal arose, but we absolutely have to wait until his stock is back up. Give him 5 good quality starts in a row and teams will be back to giving full value.
  6. No offense to pggrosschecker and some of the sites, but I wouldn't be surprised if all of them say we are in love with Vitters just because of the one BA article that said so. It seems like they don't explain anything but just say that we will take him like a fact.
  7. Apologies if this was posted already, I couldn't find a thread on it. http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/braves/stories/2007/05/07/0508bravesminority.html?imw=Y
  8. I checked out his line from last year, and it was psurprisingly good(somewhere around .300 with a .370ish OBP). This year he is absolutely raking with 6 HR's already and an OBP over .400. After seeing what an older guy (for a minor leaguer) like the Riot can do (27), i'm definately not counting out a guy like Fontenot (26). I know he plays positions that we have, but can he project to be a valuable MLB'er like Theriot has proven to be? And if anyone has a little extra information on his hitting approach, it would be welcomed. I see for being only 5'8 he's got some pop.
  9. Now, but you're comparing a 6'1 25-26 year old MLB hitter to a 6'4 and 3/4ths (read that Vitters is up there now) 17 year old who is still growing into his body. I don't know for sure, but I can say pretty confidently Murton didn't show Vitters power potential at 17.
  10. Porcello threw a perfect game hitting 97 in the first and 95 in the 7th.
  11. Not sure if they mean for the offseason or for the deadline.
  12. I'd love something for Ervin Santana. He's got a chance to be special. Obviously, we'd need to throw in some very very good prospects but i'd probably do it. He's struggled so far though, so I can't see the Angels dealing him at a low point like this.
  13. Soriano has seemed like he takes the first pitch alot to me. Problem is (this might just be coincidence) it's usually a strike and he seems like he gets in a hole early and has to protect. I get what your'e saying, but in general I've actually come to think his eye is a tad bit better than I was expecting, though it still isn't producing BB's.
  14. I obviously don't know much about Vitters' D other than it isn't too hot, but does anyone think he can move to 2b? I think I read his arm strength was a little questionable from third (could be off though). He's a litte tall at 6'4 though, but his bat could eventually be of even more value to us at second if he pans out.
  15. If you told me before the inning that we would tie it, i'd take it. Now the real fun begins.
  16. I'm calling a grounder that they try and turn 2 but Rammy beats it out.
  17. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. The matchups might not have worked, but I can't understand how people are telling Lou "Thanks for taxing our Bullpen". The people through like 7 pitches, and if they can't pitch the day after that then something is wrong with them.
