  1. Corey Kluber & Jon Lester just didn't have the will to win, today
  2. i guess that's what happens when you put a 1B in RF
  3. what a sweet little double play that was
  4. Francisco Lindor's sitting at 2.1 fWAR thru 61 G his last 40 G: .346/.379/.512 and he hits for power now stupid Mike Quade
  5. thankfully with Coghbrist, this becomes less of a blow
  6. Bryant has same WAR as Andrew McCutchen now
  7. wow, even Schwarber's Brett Gardner swings go 400 feet
  8. i'm like 90% sure we keep Fowler around
  9. we're 5 up on our pythag... also 27-17 in 1-run games, and 11-5 in extras no way of knowing his actual real value as a tactician, much less clubhouse leader/whatever, but i'm sure there's an argument that could be made
  10. i actually do think he's had a pretty immeasurable positive impact also it shouldn't be overlooked that no other skipper in baseball conducts the Coghlan @ 2B experiment; hell, we saw 2 other managers ignore his/Junior Lake's potential versatility in completely lost seasons...and that substitution was partially the impetus for our strong 2nd half push
  11. look on his 2nd half numbers ye mighty and despair
  12. well, he does lead MLB in win prob. added, so it's not totally & completely without merit...
  13. calm down, that amounts to like, one robbed single
  14. I can't remember, does the shift depress BABIP? "Fangraphs looked at the 44 players that hit against the shift at least 100 times in 2014 and found that their BABIP against the shift was .281 and with no shift their BABIP was .291" last year Rizzo had 20 pts higher BABIP hitting against a shift (219 Batted Balls into Shift)
  15. and his HR/FB is 50th of 156 qualified hitters (68th percentile) so he's not coasting on an anomalous rate of FBs leaving the field either he's just a monster
  16. next year is Arb 3, then he becomes a FA (assuming we don't first offer him a Ryan Sweeney contract he can't refuse)
  17. today i noticed Coghlan has same OPS as Justin Upton as a Cub, he's got 5.1 fWAR in 815 PA...so basically a full season 4-win level
  18. still not an all-star still not a top-50 trade chip
  19. lol at Giancarlo the superhuman http://baseballsavant.com/apps/hit_leader.php?game_date=&abs=50&sort=5,1&type=batter
  20. Matt Garza had too good a year in 2011 cost us Carlos Correa
