  1. here's a fun article from BP on pitch framing http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=22934 they argue Ryan Doumit cost the Pirates 5 wins in 2008, with his terrible receiving skills alone
  2. Darwin Barney had a 5-win season with bWAR
  3. per bkref, the only Cs in the 3-pt era to average more assists: Sam Lacey (1979-80): 5.7 Vlade Divac (2003-04): 5.3 Sam Lacey (1980-81): 4.9 neither of them had 10 RPG; so Noah could become the only C with 10 RPG / 5 APG, but Larry Bird (5x) did this all the time, apparently, and so did KG (3x) Grant Hill, C-Webb, Admiral, Barkley all flirted with it several times
  4. reasonable? .230/.300/.400, ~2 WAR pace he can also take ABs from Barney (Valbuena to 2B), and Rizzo vs. LHP
  5. yeah
  6. bump
  7. i don't know if you Illini fans knew this, but Caris Levert was an Ohio commit until Groce got hired away also, he supposedly never got an offer from UI
  8. the prospecty lineup just becomes outrageously ridiculous if you have a fixed olt And also gives the Cubs some extremely valuable trading chips Bryant for Gray
  9. i can't speak for everybody but i have an impossible time imagining Christian Colon, Andy Oliver, Brody Colvin, Brandon Jacobs are going to even be considered in the draft Pinto (76 AB) should be fine
  10. i'd hate to lose the 1/2 day of progress we've all made...making 8 picks
  11. there are like 25 Castros and Ramirezes in the system, somebody can just take a placeholder and sort it out after the draft
  12. this inning has already forced me to reevaluate everything i thought i knew about Kyle Hendricks three straight swinging strikes by Punto (4.1% SwStr last year) sandwiched in between two four-pitch walks
  13. mine all looked good
  14. that's basically our normal everyday lineup, get used to it
  15. wasn't he a top-75 prospect just two years ago? he's progressed through the system at a pretty typical pace since but anyway, Szczur shows more in game power (XBHs) than Andreoli and seems to have a better defensive reputation i'd rather compare him to somebody like Vitters, whom we actually know more about; i'd have little hesitation in betting on Szczur to post higher a career WAR
  16. Szczur still being up there is kind of insane
  17. Keith Appling's wrist is the new Chris Duhon's ribs
  18. Mauer's slated for five more seasons of 1B duty; Sano pushing him to DH makes that contract hurt worse
  19. if guys can pitch after tjs, i think he'll still be capable of playing somewhere on the diamond adequately
  20. Baez swinging so hard he falls over
  21. alright, [expletive] it, let's get andy in here and get this show on the road
  22. Wyatt Arndt ‏@TheStanchion 13h Scenes from a Phone: Ryan Kesler let's Luongo know he asked for a trade pic.twitter.com/4d0RvxUupi
  23. bump
