1. Do you have an updated link for bench players. I'm still being directed to last year's list i think this is fairly exhaustive
2. Always a good reminder that this board hated the Horner and Brennen Davis picks, as did a lot of Cubs Twitter. what about Little, Jensen, Howard..
3.
4. that's literally what happened with Rizzo, Schwarber, Baez, Bryant; those spots went to Schwindel/Rivas, Ortega, Simmons, Wisdom are you surprised every time Lucy pulls back the football?
5. The one thing they’ve continually done well with this is building a good bullpen every offseason at least. this seems like survivor's bias a bit, the bullpen ERA currently stands at 4.40 and was 4.63 last year when you exclude Kimbrel we remember the guys who figured it out, but push Daniel Norris/Rex Brothers/Dan Winkler types out of our mind
6. I mean I think we can all internalize that there are no guarantees, and that goes both ways. We've seen that very clearly this year with how the now-departed FA's have performed in their new orgs. Plus in the case of Happ himself his career has been very up and down(needing an Iowa stint after 2 years in MLB, his constantly evolving defensive home, etc) so the degree of confidence we can have about him individually isn't greater than normal either. Rizzo & Schwarber are top 10 in HR, Contreras & Happ are top 20 in OBP, all were/are pretty obviously unwanted past their underpaid years more waiver claims & trade flyers, next year's versions of Rivas, Frazier, Schwindel are probably going to tank the offense again to where competition is inconceivable and we'll think to ourselves, again, "hey if we put better players in these black holes then we could have something"
7. we talk about how easy it is to replace reliable production on the FA market then Winter comes and that just ultimately turns into bargain garbage like Simmons, Sogard, Gomes etc or stuff we ruin like Stroman, Villar
8. yeah have to say he's acquitting himself pretty well, but i'd like to know more about the high H/9 which is in stark contrast to his more dominant teammate unfortunately there's really not much prospect firepower in the MWL to compare him to statistically though
9. Catcher Drop: Salvador Perez (200) Add: Daulton Varsho (25) Bench Drop: Spencer Torkelson Add: Bobby Witt Jr.
10. liking any post that suggests Contreras extension
11. him examining every pick through the lens of "Knicks obsessive"
12. all along Ivey seemed to me like the unrealistic, dream scenario for the Pistons, so i'm thrilled how it played out last night, now they can go get Bridges/Ayton and they'll be a really fun team
13.
14. spoiler alert: we absolutely don't
15. for me it's mainly a Jed problem, the smartest guy in the room can't find enough fault with a .615 OPS player last 2 seasons running to cut bait, so why would i place blame squarely on guy who can't effectively bake with rancid milk
16. that looks like a 50-60° launch angle, how close are the RF fences lol
17. he looked like Nelson Cruz on that swing
18. yeah Caissie has 40 games of full-season league abject suckitude and now 11 games of great production, but it's obviously getting out way over your skis to assume the latter is who he is truly if we see him hit the Bigs at any time next season that means he's hit like, his 90th percentile outcome
19. also he did mostly nothing the first series-plus in May (.465 ops) then after 5/9 off-day he's been on .395/.447/.698, 17 RBI in 12 games tear
20. Ortega running in quicksand on that flyball
