  1. Jeff Carter?
  2. SSR just became physically ill upon seeing that
  3. Cubs have just 2 players with over 100 PA with better than a .315 OBP outside of Rizzo & Valbuena, team OBP is .275
  4. it doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to me that the WC logo is a bunch of hands grabbing something, when everybody knows that's precisely the thing you never want to do in this sport
  5. it just hit me with his celebration that Mexico's coach is the super saiyan gif guy
  6. brazil has a guy named hulk? ok i'm rooting for them now
  7. oh my appetite is most certainly whetted
  8. i think kaz matsui just killed a guy edit: elbowed him to death it appears
  9. why was the situation so disappointing? the basic consensus was that Aiken/Rodon/Jackson were clear top-3 talents with a stray publication/opinion here & there throwing Kolek into that mix, and one of those guys made it to our pick we just didn't seem to value that player or the non-baseball baggage attached to him
  10. What does that have to do with anything. The question wasn't whether they made the right decision. They were in a crappy situation and made the most of it, but that does not make the draft good. As it turns out it probably would have been better to win more games in 2013, oh well. Or lost more games. only if Hoyer?/McLeod? was lying about Schwarber being #2 on their board
  11. where are people getting this bizarre idea that Schwarber is some offensive monster? his college numbers are about identical to what guys like Tony Sanchez & Jeff Clement did, and the scouting consensus isn't really all that enamored with him, either
  12. cool, i can tolerate the pick better seeing how far underslot he went, but he's still nowhere near my personal top-5
  13. outsize-zone swing% april: 15.7% may: 11.7% june: 7.5% and it's coincided with 1-1/2 months of .900 OPS COME ON DOWN! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/ff/Rod_Roddy_TPIR.jpg
  14. i strongly think Soler will still be up next year, and Alcantara needs to come up with Olt going down, right about now we'll surely see Hendrick this year, too, probably in early August
  15. http://giant.gfycat.com/BouncyEnergeticAurochs.gif
  16. Hendricks is awesome: 86 pitches through 7, nearly all of them (60) strikes he's so economical, if he had capable fielders he'd probably just throw CGs every turn...go ahead and put him ahead of that weirdo misfit we just picked
  17. I think it means 2 and maybe a close 2 at that? yeah, maybe something like Bryant Soler Baez Alcantara Almora Edwards New Guy
  18. he told Liriano, mess with the best, die like the rest
  19. he was over-aggressive on that play, and looked like a real hacker - zero cool
  20. damn, Josh Harrison's actually sort of good these days: .290/.325/.476 yup, that'd play in our OF/2B
  21. i still put Soler ahead of basically everybody
  22. he literally can only hit fastballs and now after hitting a few for HRs, he sees (relatively) none
  23. took one pitch for Valbuena to just about outpace about an entire month's worth of production for Olt
