1. Matt Szczur hitting .299 for the past month with 14 steals and 2 measly XBH (both 2Bs) http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hAr69L7LCJE/TyLOc2VWLMI/AAAAAAAAM0U/WWi5ygbFArE/s1600/juan-pierre-funny.jpg
2. that Brooks Baseball profile is great
3. i need a gif of Wada's reaction on that HR
4. the difference in money is like $125M of commitments in tim's hypothetical
5. career 2.6 fWAR as a LF (74 G, 274 PA)
6. he's been suspended indefinitely for a couple weeks now, but yeah, i fully expect him to never suit up for Michigan again and if he somehow does i'll be pretty outraged
7. i had wondered that about Junior Lake, but then his July happened hypothetically, it would be more likely a good thing if the hitter is also capable of exhibiting great patience when needed, for this to hold true
8. i don't want a Feldman type unless it's just some frivolous rehab project like Brett Anderson i think i do want a proven reliever though, like maybe a Sergio Romo or Casey Janssen (if he's not injured [he probably is])
9. this is a fair characterization, yes also, i honestly don't really know what to think of a Bryant infield hypothetical since it's basically a foregone conclusion he's moving off 3B
10. Byron Buxton: .240/.313/.405, 33 K in 134 PA at A+ Addison Russell: .315/.385/.536, 32 K in 187 PA at AA and Russell's younger just sayin'
11. i mean that being a viable SS makes Russell probably the #1 prospect, even though he'd lose actual production value being relegated to 3B due to roster composition i also suspect Contra probably holds more value as a 2B, which would inflate his prospect ranking, even though it's not reflected in our defensive setup
12. his contact rate (64%) isn't any better for August, so his recent K avoidance is a bit of a mystery one nice sign though, is he swung at pitches outside of the zone 27% of the time in June, but has dropped that figure to 12% and 13% in the two months since [source: http://minorleaguecentral.com/player?pid=592178&type=batter&split=2014]
13. eh, not really i posted this immediately following the Russell trade, and my thoughts haven't really changed very much also, if i accept this to be true, then he's definitively the best prospect in baseball*, and i'd be happy to see 3B & SS switched on my above lineup (Soler can be pushed ahead of Bryant, too, but that's like, whatever) *not named Jorge Soler
14. 83 pitches on 7 IP so far *expectations raised to Maddux-level*
15. at this point, i trust Straily and Turner just about as much as i do McCarthy
16. not a chance; any time i get the chance to move 1.5 years of a good-very good pitcher for the best prospect in baseball, i'll do it
17. last month:
18. 4.3% BB, 26.1% K, .093 ISO 4.4% BB, 24.4% K, .073 ISO one is Contra's August line, the other is Rizzo's his 73% contact for the month doesn't worry me, either; he just seems be have been the victim of a few really nice defensive plays, he'll be fine Castro's hitting .415 for the month
19. i was gonna bracket Soler's hot stretch with arbitrary endpoints to make them look super video gamey, then i quickly realized that isn't even remotely necessary for a guy with a 1.225 OPS on the season
20. Lester's won two WS, i'm pretty confident he'll prioritize money so much with this contract he'll care about little else in terms of team situations
21. Not a very good K/BB ratio for the hitters this weekend, though. I also had it sorted by WAR (5th) instead of wOBA (9th) buoyed in large part by Coghlan's .338/.418/.550 slash
22. http://i1.squidoocdn.com/resize/squidoo_images/400/draft_lens6721782module54683292photo_1251657037Charlie_Brown_Football.jpg
