  1. gonna have a dilemma i need 2 of: Blue @ CLE CJ Anderson @ StL Bradshaw vs NE Jennings vs SF just need to win this and then have Gordon, maybe Peterson returning and have comical easy choices in most every spots going forward
  2. Cutty vs. MIN Sanchize @ GB
  3. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/crowdsourced-results-dead-money-of-select-trade-targets/ addresses how much dead money are in all four players' remaining commitments if we trade Jackson for an LA OF, we should be trying to acquire a pretty decent prospect in return, also
  4. yeah, i'm right there with you http://m.mlb.com/video/v31405521/atlnym-heyward-makes-spectacular-catch-to-end-game
  5. after 78 career G, Carlos Martinez is still stuck on replacement-level (RA9-WAR)
  6. i thought i remembered Anthopolous coveting the hell out of Gose; i guess he didn't develop quite as he'd hoped and Pompey made him expendable
  7. yes yes, let's definitely do that
  8. i didn't know Kershaw was in School Ties
  9. because we'll only play him if it's the Last Resort
  10. would it just be easier to move to a 14-team league
  11. "the Schwartz years" probably doesn't place in the top 10 of a Lions fans misery list i don't feel much schadenfreude about the Bears this season; you're not Ohio State / Cardinals / UK hoops
  12. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view2/1259197/i-wanna-dip-my-balls-in-it-o.gif well now i'm actually glad i labored through the last however many pages of the Olin Kreutz tangent
  13. i'd kind of wondered if it was because the surrounding talent level was such that they're in a best-case scenario for showcasing playmaking ability in a way that won't really transfer over assumptions: - it didn't matter that Trent Richardson can't make the right cuts because he was always given gaping holes to run though - it didn't matter that some of these CBs like Arenas, Kirkpatrick, Milliner can't actually cover real great because the D-Line was suffocating the QB it seemed to me too, that USC used to have this problem...but some of these guys are so physically freakish that they'll excel regardless
  14. replace Hendricks with any other pitching prospect and that probably wouldn't anger me
  15. to actually say this, you have to be: a) a complete skeptic of the effect pitch framing can have b) totally unaware at the discrepancy which exists between the two players statcorner: 2014 2013 2012 total Martin +11 +17 +24 52 Castillo -24 -17 -5 -46 Baseball Prospectus: 2014 2013 2012 total Martin +19 +15 +23 57 Castillo -10 -16 -3 -29source: http://www.statcorner.com/CatcherReport.php http://www.baseballprospectus.com/sortable/index.php?cid=1667331 so, i'm really curious to hear which it is...because it's not unfathomable (to me) to believe that an event on which they have influence about 7,000-10,000 times could really add up to a significant effect, especially when scouting sources universally agree they're at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of ability it's simply impossible for me to hand-wave a factor that could alone likely amount to a 2-3 win difference

  17. i don't know where you're seeing this, but it's very unlikely to be accurate per UZR*, he's only been positive once (2012), but to be fair he's never been a huge overall liability at SS, either; in fact, it's probably safe to project him to give back half a win with his glove, which is perfectly fine if he still hits .280 all & all, i'd eventually just move him to 2B if i got glowing reviews on Russell's glovework *fielding bible & totalzone are even slightly less forgiving I'm guessing Fangraphs, he's positive in their Def column every year other than 2011. that's because he plays SS; positional adjustment gives you back 7.5 runs per full season about 3/4 of starting SS are rated positively defensively after that is factored in
  18. i don't know where you're seeing this, but it's very unlikely to be accurate per UZR*, he's only been positive once (2012), but to be fair he's never been a huge overall liability at SS, either; in fact, it's probably safe to project him to give back half a win with his glove, which is perfectly fine if he still hits .280 all & all, i'd eventually just move him to 2B if i got glowing reviews on Russell's glovework *fielding bible & totalzone are even slightly less forgiving
  19. when he falls outside the top 20 in most advanced metrics for QBs it's worthwhile to consider if he's been a significant part of the problem
  20. i really don't believe the Cubs part of that to be true
  21. Pierce Johnson, Dunston Jr. and Vogelbach/Almora
  22. i was a little intrigued about the Kemp possibility and then i saw he's -34(!) in CF for his last 1800 innings (200 G) and he's still owed 5/108 ...nevermind!
