To use more relevant numbers, Sandoval has been worth 13.4 wins in 523 games the past 4 seasons. That translates to about 3.8 wins per 150 games. If he could manage to stay healthy enough to average that many games, at that pace he'd be worth about $114M over 5 years. That obviously doesn't take into account decline or a likely position change if and when his body worsens. So yeah, I still don't think he's worth that contract at this stage, but it's probably not as bad as you're making it seem. a win on the open market is looking to be much closer to $7M right now

yeah, it's half PPR and he's a safe bet to at least reach something like 4/50 (7 pts) which is close to Murray's upside (16/77? 22/119/fumble?) given that the Chiefs don't allow rushing scores i'm mostly left hoping Cutty/Charles/Gordon approximates Luck/Lacy/Cobb putput since i seem to have the team advantage aside from that

if they don't like Coghlan, you could probably just instead volunteer to take Carlos Quentin's $8M salary off their hands and DFA him after ST or whatever I'm curious if you prefer Cashner over Ross or if you just thought him a more realistic target. more realistic, but the difference between the two isn't major, in terms of my preference

I know who Butkus, Sayers, etc. are and I don't really give a [expletive] about them. I'd give you a blank stare too if you started talking about Bears players from 40 years ago for some reason. Greg Lloyd played throughout the 90s. He's not talking about dudes from 40 years ago. he was always a go-to player when building my Sega Madden '96 roster -
i think they'll make a big play for Hamels instead; they've got like 10 MLB-ready arms and nothing to do with half of them except let them blow out their arms and lose all value in AAA

Lester to Boston rumors seems like agent jockeying to me, more than anything in the spring they offered him 4/70 and he swiftly gave that the Mutombo treatment...what's changed in the ensuing 8 months to cause them to presumably double their offer? it doesn't make much sense
