  1. no, he rather famously had a 6 inch growth spurt this offseason
  2. moral of the story: always hit the ball soft
  3. the misplayed likely DP ball was still the most bothersome part of the half-inning

    Week 1

is the rule still that you're supposed to lose your best start if you accidentally go over? because i hated that rule and i want to state i think it needs revisiting before i have a personal interest in it that kills my credibility on the matter; i don't see an issue with just making the last start invalid so long as it doesn't happen on like a weekly basis or whatever

  6. speaking of bad defense, this has been a fun inning for the Red Sox offense 1-2-3 inning for Matt Tracy in his MLB debut, but Teixeira came off the bag early extending the inning after a challenge, then the bases were then loaded and Garrett Jones closed his glove too early on a playable fly ball, clearing the bases "the Yankees defense has been simply atrocious", cries Michael Kay
  7. yeah, Kyle Kendrick in the thin air of Coors seems like just about the most advantageous setup for dongs
  8. that cheating [expletive] Jordan Walden picked up the loss for the Cardinals tonight
  9. not a real glowing endorsement for Rivero that this puke is higher in the pecking order
  10. i think i like this combo pretty well: bryant 0 goldschmidt 19 springer 20 cabrera 25 c davis 26 stanton 37 total = 127 ZiPS projects 185 HR from that group other options are (2014/ZiPS): Trumbo (14/28) Soler (5/???) Pederson (0/22) Fielder (3/21) and Bryant isn't missing a month, in fact i'll be surprised if he's not in the lineup a week from today
  11. oh for [expletive]'s sake, let's just finish this interminable affair in waivers, the only interesting players are all taken anyway
  12. And the White Sox 0-3 is fun because i don't understand all of the talk about how improved they'd be. Their offseason was definitely nice, but the overall impact/result has been really overstated. I am definitely enjoying that one. I spend too much time listening to Chicago sports radio. I don't expect them to be super saber-savvy, but you'd think it'd phase them at least a little that all the projection systems think their team sucks. Same goes for Reds and Brewers fans. like clockwork: Adam Hoge ‏@AdamHoge 2m2 minutes ago I know it’s only been 3 games, but pretty sure the #Royals aren’t losing 90 games, PECOTA. lol or maybe pecota is right that both teams kinda suck but pecota really does suck
  13. Astros now being no-hit thru 8
  14. Trevor Bauer with 6 no-hit innings, but has issued 5 BB, recorded 11 K and is at 111 pitches already
