  1. Hendricks (career) 1st time thru: .720 OPS against 2nd time thru: .521 3rd time thru: .780 periphs are perfectly fine, too; it's mostly just BABIP difference...i generally think early Hendricks hooks are management over-thinking it
  2. man, that has to be low-point of Kemp's career how embarrassing for him
  3. a little funny that Grimm's the pitcher of record
  4. must've been that Maddon didn't want Pads to see him 3x
  5. thought for sure that was headed for dongville
  6. Rizzo = Trout in WAR
  7. i guess both can technically be possible, but this is an amusing sentiment, after i've been hearing for years the strong media suggestion that free agents preferred not to play for Babcock because of his coaching style
  8. CBSSports kind of tried to make a mini-article of this one, single quote: good to know!
  9. what is it in particular you like? his 5.28 ERA? his 5.10 FIP? his 5.77 xFIP? the 6.49 FIP in '14?
  10. there's also the equation that Bosio + those guys = known dumpster fire, while Bosio + Medina = a world of possibilities Motte's last 47 appearances ('14-'15) have yielded a 5.96 FIP, and ownership of the 5th-most destructive RP WAR during that span; i strongly resent any suggestion that he can be a valuable part of this team
  11. still worlds more inspiring than Motte/Coke/Schlitter sacks of [expletive] try to think of this as endorsement for Schwarber as 'Plan B' and it's more exciting
  12. i don't know Derrick Moncrief from Adam, but seems spectacularly shitty of Auburn to leverage his future simply to settle what seems like a petty personal beef (Michigan opening satellite camps in Alabama)
  13. last 10 games: .361/.465/.472, 12% BB, 21% K (4/4 SB)
  14. Shelby Miller's periphs are middling; he's had a strong month filled with good fortune, probably not much more
  15. exactly one-quarter of his FBs have left the park, so when that straightens out some, he'll have top of the rotation numbers (his 3.02 xFIP is 12th-best in baseball)
  16. Jason Motte and Phil Coke and Brian Schlitter are all on this team right now proving that winning games right now is not the foremost priority of the front office and it's absolutely infuriating
