  1. hahahahahaha nice work. keep away from the regular season game threads, please.
  2. off a guy who's going to be bagging groceries in a month.
  3. He's not even an everyday starter, which has been the case for quite some time. I just don't get replacing Walker with another bench player.
  4. Where did you hear this? :( Graffanino: http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/G/tony-graffanino.shtml Walker: http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/W/todd-walker.shtml Hairston: http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/H/jerry-hairston.shtml Neifi: http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/P/neifi-perez.shtml
  5. I'd rather have Hairston starting over Graffanino. Where's the upside to trading a potentially dominant RP for a bench guy? I thought Graffanino wanted to be a starter anyways if traded (per ESPN Insider).
  6. ah, "personal reasons" http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2351280
  7. Did they say why? Damn, he's on my fantasy bb team.
  8. All spring training games now have a DH. It's going to be curious to see how this affects the pitchers when they do bat in the regular season. Given how bad many Cubs pitchers have been at laying down sac bunts, I wonder if they could use the practice. Z doesn't need the sac bunt. He rips triples. 8)
  9. If you look at the two pitchers' stats, Colon is getting quite a bit more than an "edge" by having the better team. Take a good look at those stat lines again. Santana made Colon look average.
  10. I don't know why he's practicing with large quantities, unless there's group related "activities" afterwards. :?
  11. As much as I don't like the Cards as a baseball team, both Pujols and Rolen are great human beings.
  12. top gun reference. Maybe he's lost that lovin' feelin'?
  13. W / ERA / IP / CG / SHO / BB / K / h9 / HR9 / BB9 / k9 / WHIP Santana 16 / 2.87 / 231.2 / 3 / 2 / 45 / 238 / 6.99 / 0.85 / 1.75 / 9.25 / 0.97 Colon 21 / 3.48 / 222.2 / 2 / 0 / 43 / 157 / 8.69 / 1.05 / 1.74 / 6.35 / 1.16 How was Colon's 2005 season even remotely comparable to Santana's? Santana dominated every category but BB9 (approximately equal) and wins. Maybe they should start giving the Cy Young to the best offense in baseball.
  14. You obviously haven't seen him pitch. Felix is a very dominant pitcher and he will be remembered as one of the best pitchers in the history of the game if he doesn't get derailed with injuries. Too bad he isn't going to play in the WBC. The Mariners held him out cause they don't want him to get injured. Also, the Cy Young award is overrated. I'm just not a fan of a guy who doesn't actually play a full season over a just former Cy Young winner. No offense he probably could be a great pitcher when all said and done, but dont make statements that are that outrageous. Colon won a lot of games and that's why he won the Cy Young. Wins is a team stat, not an individual pitching stat, so I'm not quite sure why you are so intent on claiming Hernandez isn't as good as Colon based on that one award. If you want to break down the pitching stats of both players, cool, but I don't buy that Colon is better than Hernandez (or rather how good he will be in his ML career) based only on that award.
  15. He's pretty filthy. I wouldn't pencil him in the HOF quite yet, but the odds look good barring injury. If he can dominate ML hitters at this age, what will he be capable of in his prime?
  16. Actually, Carlos and Barrett should consider squashing Edmonds between the two of them. Naw. Edmonds would like that. It might even be one of his fantasies.
  17. but he seems like such a nice guy. Zambrano should just point at Edmonds and say "sick 'em, boy!"
