  1. neifi, you're worthless. boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  2. prior is kinda wild tonight...still Ks Aurilia. :D
  3. wow, we suck at playing small ball. it isn't a matter of having a leadoff hitter, either.
  4. nice, walker. you're out, but hairston advances. sac fly time.
  5. two bagger for hairston. right over randa's head.
  6. but his dad was a cubs fan who dreamed of his son in the WS as a Cub. :)
  7. we got rid of him once. no need for a second go around.
  8. Darn, beat me to it :x . Oh well, and no, its not just you. Anyone up for giving Embree a chance, or do we have our own Embree in Remlinger? Why is it that everytime a team RELEASES someone, people think we should pick them up? Boston's bullpen is a mess and they released him. Come on, this is getting silly. i don't think you should judge the player by the team/bullpen he was in. that said, we don't want embree on our team.
  9. unless Blanco changed his number again, Prior should bat ahead of him in the lineup.
  10. I'd be content with MacDougal and happy with Baez...but not with Bottalico. He looks very similar to Wuertz, IMO, plus 10 years or so. :D
  11. I love Nixon and all of Boston does too. You don't trade a hard *ss like Nixon who is a fan favorite. The deal is fair from a baseball standpoint, but don't leave out fan favorite appeal. Epstein had better win another WS this year if he's going to cut ties with guys like Nixon. i don't like reducing our team obp either.
  12. Neifi usually has a declining batting average as the season progresses. This isn't anything unusual when he plays every day. Play Cedeno, please.
  13. wow, 2 games above .500. impressive.
  14. Agreed. Something is going to happen. Our current outfield looks like this: Hairston Burnitz Murton Greenberg(DL) Greive Hollandsworth Gerut Thats SEVEN outfielders. Six if you dont count Greenberg. I think one of Gerut/Hollandsworth/Hairston is going to be traded. Also, hendry was quick to mention that gerut could play center. Maybe he is planning on trading CPatt (our 8th outfielder) to someone soon. or someone is going back down (maybe even two somebodies).
  15. Either Gerut has lost power (decline in SLG from rookie year) or he is retooling his game. His BB/K has completely turned around and his average is back up. He gets on base more than during his rookie year. If his power comes back, we're going to have a better than decent player. i'd kind of like to see him play rather than trading him for Dunn/Kearns/whoever. that seems farfetched to me. teams make all sorts of low level trades like this and fans get all bent out of shape that it wasn't a big splash or the precursor to a big splash. there isn't a limit on the number of trades you can make...as far as i know anyway.
  16. LOL, nice to see someone with an open mind on this subject. I also saw Dunn make a nice catch in LF going back towards the wall to rob Hairston of an extra base hit. His performance at the plate was lackluster though, I'll give you that.
  17. I'm surprised that no one commented on the fact that Gerut wore the same number for the Indians that Blanco gave up (#9). We could have seen this move coming. But anyway, I'm going to reserve judgement on this trade until I see Gerut get at least 100 ABs under his belt as a Cub (if he does stay here instead of being shipped off in another trade). It seems to be a trading of skill sets. Dubois's power for Gerut's plate discipline and fielding. There are some highlight videos of Gerut on cubs.com if you guys are interested (diving catches, etc). http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=425506
  18. wow, walker's bat is hot. alright, that didn't come out right.
  19. as brenley said, ball to your left, take off. if the pitcher gets it, you're in trouble. *shrugs*
  20. 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. time to pile it on.
  21. alright!! almost game time. i was getting spoiled with those day games.
  22. i'm sick of neifi, but i'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of him until nomar is back and proves himself to Dusty. poor Cedeno. kid has a breakout year and he's called up and gets a whoppin' 36 ABs. that will help him develop.
