That's a Cubs fan talking. Pujols is a once in a generation type of player. If he doesn't have a catastrophic injury, by the time he is done he will be mentioned among the greatest hitters to ever play. He hasn't even reached his prime yet. I don't know if Pujols has reached his prime or not, and Lee undeniably had a better year last year, but PECOTA projects that Pujols will be worth 2.5 wins more than Lee this year and 15 more wins than Lee over the next five years. Straight up, I'd trade Lee for Pujols in a heartbeat. This is going to sound a bit of homerism, but I WOULDN'T trade Lee for Pujols. Derrek has become the foundation of the Cubs, the "heart and soul" of the team, and I value that immensely. Pujols isn't too bad defensively, but let's just this...Derrek is closer to Pujols in offensive abilities, then Pujols is to Derrek defensively. Albert is a great player, but I rather have the MORE complete player in Lee. Lee had one good year. Pujols is a lock for an elite year every year. Lee isn't that much better than Pujols defensively.
