  1. Nate Silver way overvalues Jones' trade value. Hendry is good at finding trade partners and he couldn't find any takers.
  2. You guys are panicking, it's still early, seriously. And don't give me "but it's the Cubs" stuff. The billy goat has nothing to do with the Cubs struggles.
  3. Going to the game today... I hope we hit the hell out of Marquis, I can't stand him.
  4. How the hell did Looper become a pitching God?
  5. Whatever you can't stop Molina, you can only hope to contain him.
  6. yes, i did see that stat on yahoo. but those guys are just slumpin, ur lucky u dont have izturis, blanco, and jones. u guys have pujols, edmonds, rolen, that little dweeb eckstein, who all usually have high averages. its just early season slumps, thats all. not to mention ur manager has won in the past 17 years, unlike ours True, however Preston Wilson is the Anti-Christ. Can you claim your lineup features the Anti-Christ? No, you can't.
  7. Our lineup features only one player hitting above .260.
  8. I suppose it could happen but I haven't heard any rumors like that. The Cards are usually pretty open and honest about injuries. This also doesn't make any sense. If he gets "shut down" for the year, that will mean that there's something seriously wrong with his arm. If this were September and the Cards were out of the playoff race, then yes, they might opt to sit him out for the rest of the year. But teams don't just decide to sit players out with 90% of the season remaining, just because that player has some injury concern. They'll shut down Carp for the rest of the year if they determine he needs major surgery. My only point was I doubt the rumor is true because the Cards are pretty open about the extent of injuries.

  10. I must admit I'd be more prone to signing up this way as well. When I looked into this a few years ago, it cost a fairly significant amount to register as a vendor in order to accept credit cards. I'll check into whether or not that price has come down. I'd certainly be happy to get away from paypal and the fees they take out. paypal can handle credit cards. Check out "Website Payments Standard": http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_merchant-outside They just take out the % as a paypal donation.
  11. Hah, well that's easy for you to say.
  12. During the off-season vance and I made a friendly wager on Looper and Marquis' performance this season. The Rules: - I've got Looper and he's got Marquis. - There must be a minimum of 13 GS for each player. - The winner will be determined by the highest ERA+ at the end of the regular season. The Bounty: If I win vance has to display a Cardinals avatar of my choice on NSBB for one week. If vance wins I have to display a Cubs avatar of his choice on GRB for one week. The avatars must be maximum of 170 px wide and nothing profane. Current Standings Shockingly they've been pretty good so far... Looper GS - 2 ERA+ - 169 Link Marquis GS - 2 ERA+ - 113 Link
  13. How bad is our offense? Molina was intentionally walked tonight and the pitcher wasn't up next.
  14. hahaha Come to the dark side fellas...
  15. Lidge was out of the closer job last year. not true. He blew a save in their homestand. My point is he lost the closer job last year also. It's not that big of a knee jerk reaction. The guy for whatever reason doesn't have it. It's knee jerk because he had been reinstalled as closer. It only took one blown save, and a bad relief appearance in a non save situation, for Garner to say TODAY that Wheeler is his closer. He had gotten rocked by the Cards the day before.

  17. That's not possible. Yadi might be the worst hitter in baseball.
