  1. Alzolay has looked shaky for a bit now, but that was on the offense. Getting their starter to 36 pitches in the 1st should have been the beginning of the end, even though the offense didn't score. Instead, the offense got aggressive with a wild pitcher, and let him get into the 5th.
  2. There's some solace to be found in Kyle's numbers against these hitters. Hopefully he's locked in.
  3. The lineup may be trash, but his location has been spot- on.
  4. If that's what he evolves into, getting a playoff-caliber #3 in the middle of the 1st round is a major victory, every time.
  5. Wicks had a long rest. Hope he picks it right back up.
  6. Does it bother anyone else when there is an egregious miss by the ump and the booth says nothing?
  7. Anyone looked under the hood on Assad? Seems like a candidate to regress just based on his inability to miss bats. Would obviously love for him to be a thing.
  8. Is there a material difference between Theo and Jed's promotion philosophies? KB was a monster for 300 AA PAs, but they still had him stop in Iowa for over 300 more before coming up. Morel, on the other hand....
  9. When JD leaves, it will cut deep. He's as good as it gets. Boog is great at what he does, but I can tell that he told Marquee "I'm not going to pretend to be a Cubs fan" and they said "OK".
  10. In that run environment, that's akin to going 1-5 with a single and 3Ks
  11. I just ran into the room because I heard Boog get excited but it was for the Pirates.
  12. For content, I like Boog just fine. What I'm missing is in the moments when I feel tense, I want that reflected in the broadcast. Len did that, Pat does it, etc. During the lead- up to the trade deadline, when the season seemed to hinge on pivotal points in each game, Boog was just completely dispassionate. Drives me nuts.
  13. I'm guessing this is one of those games where the offense looks like a juggernaut again. 10+ runs.
