I was hoping to see Bruce lurking since maybe he would have caught something of it and told us, but I haven't seen anything yet. From the replay on my dvr, it looked as if Aram was ticked about where Hollandsworth threw the ball on Mabry's 3B. It seemed as if Aramis was gesturing to Todd that he should have thrown to the cutoff man or in any case a different direction. Holla tried to walk away and Aramis grabbed his arm (lightly, to be sure) and started back in on him. After that Perez whipped a bat and WGN cut to commercial. Maybe the heat got to them; maybe the emotions of blowing a game that was completely winnable did. But either way, it's something to watch for. Interesting. While I can understand Aramis' reaction to Todd, someone should remind Aramis that maybe a little more hustling wouldn't hurt either. His groin may still be an issue. He would have been thrown out at 2nd on the single had he tried to run, and Hollandsworth walked in any case. I don't like it much either, but it didn't cost the team anything tonight, and if I had the choice between him jogging out a routine grounder, or running hard and reinjuring his leg, i'll take the jogging.

I didn't see where Perez was on the throw, it trickled in to Walker as Mabry got to 3rd. I hope that the C word is avoided in relation to this loss on the whole. C word? BTW, Perez was in short left field, I think. Hollandsworth tried to throw it directly to 3B.

Everyone should be upset with Hollandsworth. He's a starting left fielder with a utility infielder's numbers. He took an absolute crap route to the ball Mabry hit, which all but guaranteed a triple, since his route made the bounce that ball took off the wall much, much worse.

Dusty got lucky when Rusch didn't blow the game. He pressed his luck with Mitre, and a bad bounce and a good bunt later, game over. I'm concerned about a meltdown in the clubhouse. Aramis was ripping Hollandsworth in the dugout after the game, Lee threw a glove, Perez threw a bat, and everyone just looked like they just crapped the bed.

There's the difference between our teams right there. Execution. I've never seen Dusty try a squeeze play, and would it have hurt anything tonight? Once? With Hairston at 3rd and Walker up?? That's why we suck. Lack of execution. And it looked like Aramis was ripping Hollandsworth there for something.
