  1. What kind of Cubs fan wastes his time looking up stats like that? Don't you know that Neifi is just plain terrible and shouldn't be in the major leagues? Um...Neifi is plain terrible as an everyday SS on a contending team. Stats like that are usually aberrations. It probably wasn't you, USSoccer, but I recall a ton of posters on this site saying that Hendry was an idiot for signing Perez after he was cut by the Giants. Neifi didn't deserve to play in the majors. He was another team's reject. No one, at that time, qualified any of their statements the way you just did. I wish they had. Whats the difference? He's still bad either way. He would be acceptable in a Macias-type role (as a 25th man, not the lead pinch hitter), but not as our starting SS.
  2. Wow, that was bad. Not Jeff Gordon bad...but bizarre bad. It's like it was some sort of audition for her.
  3. Whew. We bought an extra inning.. Why is she actually singing the stretch???
  4. 2 fast outs...c'mon Rem, make me look bad!
  5. Rem's 2nd inning of work is not a good idea....here's hoping we get lucky here.

  7. Prolonging the inevitable... ...and Len, I think the fans are booing the Holla/Perez duo....
  8. It looked like that ball dropped fair off of the glove....hmmm....
  9. And if you're going to start Neifi, bat him 8th....please?
  10. Jeez, LF is going to kill us this year....
  11. Anyone else having a heart attck over ARam's wrist??
  12. 2 quick outs... ...it's too bad our O has been quiet this game. Hill pitched well.
  13. I swear...the Cubs are going to take years off of my life. Nice catch by Burnitz. 1 down.
  14. That's Jason Schmidt? He's lost a lot of weight....
  15. I thought they were putting him in the pen.
  16. I like Delucci, but Soriano won't play anything other than 2B. Why does that matter. He has a great slugging percentage, 17th overall. They can just go w/ Hairston and Delucci 1-2 or Delucci and Nomar 1-2. As CPatt pointed out, Soriano's road OPS is bad. Factor that with the fact that he's not a severe upgrade over Walker, and he becomes much less attractive a player to have. I'd much rather have Delucci on his own. The prospect cost would be more reasonable, too. His slugging % is 50 points better than Walker's and he's alot faster. Some of you guys overvalue the walk and undervalue the home run. Not many walks are going to push Lee, Burnitz and ARam across the plate. Most likely it just gives Neifi and Barrett the chance to strand them. Also home runs are a sure run. The Cubs would be pretty dangerous w/ three 35+ homer guys. I'm not saying he's a bad player; he's not. He's just overpriced given the difference between he and Walker, and the difference between his road and home numbers
  17. I like Delucci, but Soriano won't play anything other than 2B. Agreed. Dellucci would be solid, but I don't want any part of Soriano and his .652 Road OPS When did Wrigley become a pitcher's park?? Same thing was said about Burnitz. Wrigley plays as a pitcher's park about half the time, IIRC, since the wind blows in about half the time. I think Soriano would be a good option if he were willing to play CF, but he's not. So in my humble opinion, it's not worth the price to get him.

  20. That's got to be the worst 6-7-8 combo of any team still in the hunt for the playoffs.
  21. How can Dusty keep batting Aramis 5th? I swear to god, Dusty operates on another logical plane from the rest of the planet. You have to be completely insulated to consistently ignore logic and trends the way this man does.
  22. why would we send our only CF to Washington? Unless they're sending Wilkerson straight up for him. :D
