  1. Hopefully that guy helps orphans or puppies or something in his spare time because otherwise he's just the worst
  2. Yeah that might have been a red there on Sergio Ramos
  3. This game has been turgid crap
  4. Pepe is and always will be the worst
  5. Watching Torres stand around relatively static makes me remember the US plays tonight too
  6. Really, Griezmann?
  7. I almost hope Clattenburg loses control because these two sets of players will absolutely be ridiculous in their hysteria and cynicism.
  8. Because the tournament starts in 6 days and the general level of causal awareness is below a Gold Cup.
  9. Ramos was offside there
  10. Let's talk about what a bad job Fox has done marketing Copa America.
  11. Isn't Kellyn Acosta in that mix too? He just got called in as a defender, right? I have no doubt JK called him in as a fullback, since that's what the idiot in charge of the U23's did, but Kellyn Acosta is a Dmid or at best, a B2B central mid. He's a terrible fullback.
  12. The group that started the 2nd half is the group that should be starting games for us. Beckerman and especially Zardes are terrible internationally, albeit for different reasons. Not a shock that when a two guys who can hold possession, move with and without the ball and move with purpose come in Dempsey and everyone else look a lot better. It would have been nice to see that for a full 45 instead of the "stand around and do nothing" thing we got in the first half.
  13. This game should be tied. We're terrible.
  14. I just hope he gets at least one more and goes out strong. He's had to play most of the last 5 years with little to no support going forward, so his goalscoring record over the last 5 years is just that much more impressive to me when you look at some of those lineups he got stuck with, especially in 2012 and during the WC.
  15. That would be major tournament #3 he's missed part or all of with injuries. GC2011, WC14 and CA16
  16. Yeesh, Spurs. Give up much?
  17. Ooof. That's a nice ass backyard, though.
  18. No chance he leaves Dortmund. His dad is a coach there and Tuchel rates him highly.
  19. Too bad the Queen didn't have him thrown in a tower.
  20. Yeah. Like Wolf pointed out, though, sustaining that performance over 36 games and being that much better than all these other moneyed sides just doesn't have a good analog. Maybe like one of those dumpster fire Pirates teams with a $58 dollar payroll from 10 years ago winning the World Series? It would be a lot harder for a team like that to roll through the 162 game regular season to qualify for the playoffs and then advance through multiple stages of the playoffs and win the world series than to just have the best record after 36 games. Very true. Maybe if the expansion Jaguars had won the Super Bowl their first year? There's just not a good American analogue.
  21. If we're just looking at it odds-wise, it would be a 15 or 16 seed winning the NCAA tournament. Those teams were all at least 2000-1 this year. Yeah. Like Wolf pointed out, though, sustaining that performance over 36 games and being that much better than all these other moneyed sides just doesn't have a good analog. Maybe like one of those dumpster fire Pirates teams with a $58 dollar payroll from 10 years ago winning the World Series?
  22. Jesus. Manchester United paid more for players the past 3 years than LCFC have in their entire history, according to the Guardian.
  23. Something like Boise State making it into the CFB playoff and winning.
  24. Leicester lost 3 games all year. Two of them to Arsenal and one of those losses was thanks to a questionable sending off and last second goal. They took 4 points off Spurs and Man City. 2 off Man United. 4 off West Ham. They'd fare just fine in a playoff unless they had to play Arsenal.
