  1. Wait, so a game consisting of one on one matchups has an element of selfishness in it? Unpossible. I'm going to say 500 Hail Ecksteins for your soul. May Joe Morgan have mercy on it.
  2. You know what would be great? If the selfless, angelic, perfectly content current Cubs could hit left handed pitching.
  3. They just demoted him. You could get him for a good arm and a bullpen arm. They did? I think so. I thought I read that somewhere. OMG LIAR! Lock the thread! Yeah, I suck at life. My bad. He's not been sent down. I don't know what I was looking at.
  4. Linkege BOOOOOOOOOOO. You suck. Get better at your job, Jim. Your team is flawed and so is your face.

  6. They just demoted him. You could get him for a good arm and a bullpen arm.
  7. They need pitching, which is the one thing we can actually develop. I'd throw Veal at them. Sell now before his value bottoms out.
  8. I like. It's sad that we do have in house solutions for 3 of our 4 holes, but Soto, Murton and Pie won't get any regular time for some reason.
  9. :pukel: You're kidding, right? He is very good against LHP, and would be had for next to nothing. At worst, you get a platoon mate for Floyd who can actually slug. Look up opportunity cost and get back to me with your puking.
  10. YESYESYESYESYESYESYES. I'd be all over Gomes.
  11. Today has all the makings of a snoozefest. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see anything happening.
  12. Well yeah, but how does Silva help that? Insurance implies that he can actually help us in a way. god forbid there is an injury to one of our pitchers he would help, i don't know how you could say he wouldn't we don't really have much in starting backups right now Why would we trade players and spend extra payroll to get a guy who probably couldn't outperform Gallagher or Mateo?
  13. August 16th, but it won't last long.
  14. No, I don't think we're good enough. There are too many holes offensively to prevent us from fading down the stretch.
  15. I'm considering him right now. ... ... He sucks.
  16. This move makes so much sense. It needs to happen, unless Hendry enjoys seeing us get three-hit by every LHP on the planet. We could probably send Texas nothing and get him. Lets put winning ahead of PR.
  17. You probably would have hung up after they demanded Pie, Hill, Marshall, and E. Patterson. Chuck Lamar's not the GM anymore. Gomes could be had very cheaply.
  18. Almost forgot: I'd have called Tampa to see about Gomes and Crawford.
  19. I would have never traded for Kendall, DFA'd Bowen and brought up Soto I would have looked at Sosa for a RH platoon in RF. He could have been had very cheaply. I would also have looked at Kenny Lofton and Eric Gagne. I'd look at Ryan Church, Griffey and Dunn. I would have pressed KC to see who they would have wanted for Grienke.
  20. I kind of doubt MacPhail moves anyone before this winter. I'd imagine he would want to take the rest of this season to see what he has before making any drastic changes.
  21. As much as I loathe Hendry, I can't believe he would be this stupid. If we're sending them our very best trade chip, we'd better be getting more than a redundant C and a decent LOOGY. Unless Pie has developed osteoporosis or something.
