  1. Lol...Denver is apparently using last year's playbook. Stupid by Reed there
  2. This game is crazyballs. That's a pretty clear catch
  3. ESPN has the 2014 World Cup, still. It doesn't switch over to NBC until 2018 & 2022. When FSC lost MLS, Serie A and EPL rights in the span of about 5 minutes, that was about it. As much as they were the torch carrier for a while, I don't begrudge the loss of the SD broadcasts or terrible production values. I will, however, always miss the Bretos/Sullivan pairing, and the amazing CCL broadcasts in which CONCACAF managed to somehow make FSC's broadcast quality worse (I think Fox still owns the CCL rights, no? GOLTV still owns the US Open final rights as well).
  4. Pfft. Who would do something like that?
  5. It just seems like forever compared to AP's freakish recovery. No, it seems wrong because it's usually a 10-12 month recovery. If they did the surgery this week, for example, I would say November would be about right. In the real world, sure, but it's more fun to imagine Shanahan inflicted more longterm damage. Also, if it could be 12 months to recover and he has the surgery in January 2013, there's probably very little reason to try and get him playing in 2013. Both of those are points I can agree with; Shanahan should be fired today. You don't pull that kind of crap with a franchise player; it is like if Thibs had put Rose out there with a knee brace for game 2.

  7. 14-18 months is a lot longer than the usual recovery time. Unless it's a particularly bad tear, I don't see how it's that long.
  8. You think so? I see Seattle being able to move the ball at will. If Lynch doesn't put the ball on the ground at the 2, it's 28-14 right now. Seattle is garbage. Yes, their highly ranked defense and running game surely do suck. If they were garbage, what were Minnesota and Washington?
  9. You can walk with an MCL/ACL injury until the swelling gets nuts.
  10. You think so? I see Seattle being able to move the ball at will. If Lynch doesn't put the ball on the ground at the 2, it's 28-14 right now. When I posted that, Skins were still up 1. This with RG3 not being able to run or throw for the last 2 1/2 quarters. They haven't scored since early in the game, certainly would have put up more than 14 points if he was mobile at all. I hope his ACL isn't torn. I'm sure the league will investigate this with Andrews' statements. His ACL is done, I think. At best, that's a pretty serious MCL sprain. Him not moving at all despite losing the ball tells you everything, I think.
  11. Given James Andrews' comments earlier today, Shanahan should probably be fired. You don't dick around with a franchise altering player like that, no matter how meatballin' he acts about playing.
  12. Well, great job, Shanahan. You managed to break your franchise player. That doesn't look good. It looks like his studs caught in that Soldier Fieldish turf.
  13. Pretty much.
  14. You think so? I see Seattle being able to move the ball at will. If Lynch doesn't put the ball on the ground at the 2, it's 28-14 right now.
  15. True, but even accounting for the whole "US players are late bloomers" thing, I don't see it. Ream made sort of sense because he plays the ball on the desk and is a soft defender, aka exactly what Arsenal appear to value. Sapong is all tools right now.
  16. ... and he scores in his debut after only 7 minutes. I know it's only non-league Mansfield, but it's a nice start. My point wasn't that he isn't good. He's just not worth nearly twice Demba Ba. Great piece of business from Chelsea. There's a hard to believe rumor going around that Arsenal are lining up a bid for CJ Sapong. The MLS players they've been interested in (Ream) are kind of baffling. Also, Zusi & Agudelo are trialling at West Ham. Daniel Sturridge got that sweet, sweet English player upcharge, because he's about half the player Ba is at twice the price. Also, I could score against Mansfield. Sapong to Arsenal makes no sense unless they immediately loan him to someone on the continent for PT. He'd never see the field for their first team; he's not there yet.
  17. And Matt Hasselbeck has started 11. Trent Dilfer and Shaun King also have a bunch of starts. I'll also accept Elvis Grbac and Todd Collins.
  18. Mike Carey is the worst.
  19. It's gotten slightly better, but in general it's not always pleasant. They just signed the kid from Schalke to a precontract for next term. Make the CL, sell Bale for silly money, upgrade the backline, move Clint to that wing, and you've got an intriguing offense.
  20. Clint with a brace. 7 goals and 5 assists so far in all comps while missing the first 4 league games and with no preseason.
  21. Cutler has obvious flaws, but Boomer was mostly just meatballin' and barely touched on any of them. The main thing he was trying to get across was "HUR DUR, CUTLER IS NOT LEADER." No doubt. That's why he deserves all the shade that can be thrown.
  22. While in general Esiason is an idiot and deserves to be mocked for these comments, Cutler doesn't have the greatest footwork. I think his early game tendencies to overthrow receivers and take a bit to dial in have something to do with this.
  23. I've already had a relative saying he wants Singletary. I momentarily blacked out after I heard that. HE KNOWS BEARS FOOTBALL 3 YARDS AND CLOUD OF DUST ENOUGH OF THIS PAMPERED INJURY FAKING QB PANTSLESS RANTS WORK
  24. Said it in the other thread; they'll fire Tice, promote Bates and retain Lovie on the last year of his deal because the "defense was dominant it's the offense that sucks as usual putting too much pressure on the awesome defense that bends and breaks at the worst times see Seattle game and also wears down toward the end of the year plus its best players are all post prime or worse"
  25. It depends whether Emery is willing to let Smith coach in his contract year, which I wouldn't be thrilled with, but it is better than the complete slap in the face that an extension would be. The logic will be: -The defense was dominant -The offense was inept -Lovie is a great defensive coach -Tice was the coordinator of the inept offense
