  1. Two notable things from today's EPL games: -Clint scores the equalizer and triggers a 3-1 win late v City. -Luis Suarez bit Branislav Ivanovich. That guy is insane.
  2. I'm honestly a little surprised there's not more backlash against Rose than one random fat guy from Peoria suing him.
  3. Sunil gonna get paaaaaaaaiiiiid
  4. why do you think it would have gone any differently? Maybe they go after Bourn or B.J. Upton harder. Maybe Justin Upton is willing to waive his NTC to come here. Maybe the FO and the owner approach is more of a willingness to build both for now and later than just later. He fills a couple of key spots on the team and puts you in a better position to construct a team in the short run. I think there's more motivation to construct a better team than what they've gone with this year. Yep. Signalling that you're not being indifferent to being good at the major league level in the short term would have been a hell of a lot more helpful in both FA and talking trade than the way everything's panned out. From Ramirez, to Cespedes, Darvish (not their fault), and then this offseason with the above mentioned guys, there were opportunities to avoid an abyss. When you have the opportunity to add talent at the sole cost of money, so long as it's not stupid ARod-ish money, a big market team should be doing so. The whole point of assembling the Justice League of GMs in the front office was to be able to do everything well. Draft, develop, recruit, etc... Instead, we get an approach that's essentially "We certainly wouldn't mind being good this year, but our real attempts at being good are a couple years away so whatever happens in the meantime at the major league level is whatever". And we get to enjoy speculating on which parts we can strip from the team to sell at auction. It sucks.
  5. The reason are that Stanton will cost more talent, while Price would cost more money. So a team like the Cubs, with lesser valued prospects to offer but plenty of cash to spend (if they want to) would be more in line for Price. Additionally, the Cubs prospects base is more position player heavy with no high end pitching, so their perceived need would also be in-line with the asset they appear to be more able to afford. On the other hand, Tampa Bay isn't really known for accepting less than an overpay for their players. I think they end player cost would be about the same; given that, Stanton's by far the better target.
  6. So 5 guys delivering pizza=hung over? Because he was hung over.
  7. Same way they play games in climate controlled environments every night in the NHL? They'll just borrow the magical climate machines that Qatar invented for World Cup 2022. VOILA: instant winter.
  8. Apparently the FA said Aguero will not be suspended for this. I'm not sure how they can look at the video and not give him a three-game ban but they did. That's unbelievable. The only was this happens is if Chris Foy says he saw it in his match report, and if he did, that a-hole should be banned, because seeing that and not at the least showing a yellow is nuts. In related news, Alan Gordon is going to get a 3 match ban for the gay slur he leveled at Will Johnson.
  9. The Cubs are not going to move. They know this. That is why they aren't negotiating from the standpoint of worrying about what would happen if the Cubs left. Not that Ricketts wants to work with the rooftop owners, but I wonder if anyone suggests putting the jumbotron where the current scoreboard is thereby avoiding the whole rooftop view issue. Ricketts would get the added revenue from the jumbotron and still get a cut from the rooftops. Welcome, Tom Tunney. Exalt
  10. Its for parties. Just attended my first one on Saturday for a bachelor party. The cold certainly didn't help, but most people (myself included) spent a good chink of time inside at the bar. It wasn't awful, but I wouldn't go again with the intent of watching baseball. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RAYCESS
  11. These guys are completely deluded as to their importance. I really will enjoy every single moment of schadenfreude as they get their comeuppance.
  12. What a fun match. Chelsea was robbed. Aguero should have been sent off and that was a stone penalty on Torres. Those two chances that Ba and Mata had, back to back, ended up being the game.
  13. The City/Chelsea semifinal game is fantastic. 3 great goals and Chelsea's pressuring nonstop.
  14. hahahaha. nice, hossa.
  15. http://i.minus.com/iC92TeX9wQeTJ.gif Everyone look at how terrible this terrible PK is.
  16. Nice PK, Adebayor. He's the guy all the Spurs idiots should actually be directing their meatball rage at.
  17. That guy that the meatball faction of Spurs fans hate who we all know is a damn hero has a brace and has forced AET in the EL game v Basel.
  18. That's amazing and awesome. Love me some Jose.
  19. What an embarrassment.
  20. I cannot see those Branson commercials without thinking of: -Nelson at the Andy Williams concert -"No, palie, this is Bronson, Missouri."
  21. Only reason Louisville had the arrow was because of an equally awful double-foul call where the foul the Wichita kid committed was evidently to have his head in the way of all the shots it was taking from the Louisville player. Just terrible. Oh lord, that was a crap call. Taking nothing away from Louisville-they forced Wichita into all those errors-but those two calls were terrible.
