  1. All things being equal, the legends of yesteryear would compare more favorably to the players of today. i.e. Babe Ruth wouldn't be a 5th OFer, but he wouldn't be heads and shoulders above the likes of ARod, Pujols, or even Cabrera.
  2. The title of this thread sounds really bad.
  3. He looks like I do when I throw a ball left handed.
  4. Haluska is a guard. Plain and simple, he is not a small forward. Comparisons on their respective abilities should not be made since they play completely different roles with their teams. I don't care what you said about Brunner last week, it doesn't pertain to me or this conversation. I don't care what other Hawkeye fans said about Dee, it doesn't pertain to me or this conversation. I'm not "ripping" anyone, just pointing out that Randle hung onto the rim for too long (with nobody under him, as you claim) and was lucky he did not get a T called. You seem to take everything that does not put the Illini on a pedestal personally, and it's really getting old.
  5. I wouldn't trade Zambrano straight up. The money would have to be right to make me give up Prior as well. I still think very (maybe too) highly of him.
  6. Take off the orange glasses for a moment. There was nobody anywhere near him. He wasn't hanging on to spare someone below. And what the hell does Haluska have to do with any of this? No one near him. Do you see the picture. Right after the dunk Marco froze right under him. WOW! Yes people have said he was a better athlete than Randle. I don't care what color Haluska is I think he is a good athlete, but not in the class that Randle or Doug Thomas are. 1) I saw the play live 2) I saw the subsequent 82 replays 3) Nobody was under him 4) When have I ever mentioned Haluska? Should I compare Greenway and Hodge to LBs Illinois had last year to you? That would be the same argument. 5) You're comparing a 6'5" guard to a couple of 6'8" forwards.
  7. It wasn't?

  9. Nice! He looks like he ate Glendon Rusch and most of Cecil Fielder! Fixed!
  10. Probably just an assumption that Neifi is there as the backup SS/utility man, as everyone has been stating. I really don't think Neifi is a serious contender for the everyday 2B job or to be forced into a platoon.
  11. Then why not Maddux, if you're basing your argument on who has been around longer?
  12. Seriously...what's not to like? I'd take a 961 OPS in full season #2 from anyone in our organization, especially if that followed a 908 OPS in full season #1.
  13. He only appears larger as his awesomeness actually shows up on film as a little extra padding. That and Hank White is shrinking.
  14. That was my initial reaction. That sounds a bit high, unless he can duplicate '05. Then, it's a bargain.
  15. Miguel Cabrera would be a mighty fine pick, but I wonder how his numbers will suffer without Pierre and Castillo in front of him.
  16. I have him as my #1 Marmol in all of baseball. 97 sounds good. I think it would be fun to see him and Guzman at some point this year.
  17. No charge, but he's lucky there wasn't a T called for hanging on.
  18. Isn't he the only former XFL player in the NFL? Me love he snapshot on espn: http://espn.starwave.com/i/nfl/profiles/players/statsid/s5850.jpg
  19. Except for the fact that Zambrano is already better than Buehrle and that he didn't pick a #5.
  20. If paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, and scissors beats paper, what beats all 3 at the same time? Answer: Carlos Zambrano.
  21. Gotta say, I know absolutely nothing about Pakistani TV. I would guess MLB.TV would probably be your best bet. I really don't know of any other online options.
  22. No CSN or WGN in Pakistan? Sheesh, ESPN's gotta be there.
  23. Cuz BP can't count.
