    Give it a rest already. You are wrong and crossing the line. Darryl Kile's death was attributed to natural causes, and there was also a family history of similar problems.

    I won't go in to how pathetic I think that comment was. I will say that Kile died from irregularities due to an enlarged heart. Please do not try to imply that his death was caused by drug usage. Despicable. Better read the coroner's report again, which clearly stated different. What the Chicago police found on the bathroom counter wasn't left by the maid as Cards fans keep saying. Thanks for proving my point. Wasn't the substance pot? Are you claiming pot killed him? Not only that, but as the article I linked to points out, it was indicative of use WEEKS before.

    Right. But the Lakers might have been a lottery team without Jackson. So it's wrong to assume that he didn't make a difference, just because they lost in the first round. My understanding is that Baker was brought to the Cubs because he's a "players' manager" (great motivator?). So when is he going to motivate Juan Pierre to hit the cut-off man? When is he going to motivate his players to take a few more pitches? He's a manager who makes alot of money. The Cubs should expect him to do more than simply fill out a lineup card every day. Spoken like a true Cub fan. :wink:

    Absolute certainty? Perhaps not. But I'd say it was pretty close considering that the bat was around head level and still on its way up. He threw that with a heck of a lot more force than is requireed to flip it near the plate. That's a pretty big miscalculation. Either way, I'm fine with the penalty. 50 games (and $175,000) and 50 hours of community service is still a lot. Not if you're unemployed for 50 games.

    Reyes is on the 40 man??? Why?? A better question might be, why is Henry Blanco on the roster, and getting paid $1.5 million? He plays once a week and absolutely sucks when he does. You're telling me you can't find a good defensive catcher who can't hit worth a lick for the minimum? Yes, his name is Geovany Soto.

    Do you think 76-86 with Dusty, et al coming back is better than 66-96 with none of them returning, using the freed up payroll to acquire upgrades at most positions and setting ourselves up for future winning seasons?
