    I hope Hendry already sees Maddux as being one that can't be counted on to get past the 5th. I like Maddux as much as the next guy, and I'd like to see him go out as a Cub. However, I'd also like to see him not being so bad.

    That joke was never funny. I know, Dusty wasn't laughing when he said it either....but he was being serious (in his mind atleast). I realize Dusty made a comment, but somebody continues to throw it out as though it's supposed to be funny.

    My good lord, how do you get back up after a load like that plows you at the plate? I think I'd curl up into a ball and cry for a few hours. Kudos to Miller for holding onto that ball.

    If we do trade him, I hope it's not to the Mets! [-( Can't stand them, and don't want to help them. On the other hand, if he's degressed a bit, he might hurt the Mets more than help them. Trade him to the Padres, Jim. Don't help out the Dodgers, Giants, or Mets! Or Yankees! Trade him for the best package. So what if he helps the Mets, Dodgers, Giants, whoever....help the Cubs please! I'm confused -- do we have to fleece any of those teams?

    I see your point, but his OBP is over .400. Even if he hits only 20 HRs a year, what's the big deal? ARam and Lee will both hit 30 every year. That sounds like enough power. The point is......why trade for a great OBP with declining power for $15 mill, when you can prolly get Brian Giles for less then HALF of what Abreu is making. Giles still has a .382 OBP, and is mkaing slightly less the $8 mill this yr. And Giles plays in a tough HR hitters park. Trading for a $15 million dollar doubles hittters, is hardly consider a good move. Giles is under contract through 2008, and is more than likely not available (full NTC this year, limited the next 2).

    Nope, played SS and switched to 2B in the 9th (even though Walker's D probably was the reason they won).

    Walker was just giving us an excuse to work a few "Neifi sucks" comments into the game thread. Neifi sucks. OK, what did I miss? Walker changed his jersey in the clubhouse and accidentally put on Neifi's #13. He had to run back in and do a quick change. I see. You'd think the stench would have given it away.
