    I'll give you Wilson for Chacon, but the other deals aren't particularly bad. Perez and Hernandez for Nady seems about a toss-up to me, and I'm surprised they actually found someone to give them anything for Kip Wells.

    WE NEED PEOPLE WHO CAN ACTUALLY GET ON BASE. You can get that from other positions. If Izturis returns to his 04 form his 330 OBP will be just fine from the 7 spot. If we can hopefully sign Carlos Lee or Soriano this offseason we will be set. Pierre, Barrett, Lee, Soriano/Lee, Ramirez, Jones/Murton, Izturis, Cedeno. What makes you think his "form" is the 330? Could it be all of the other seasons where he has been much worse? I think that was an anomoly, not something to be expected. His minor league OBP was 311, and it's 295 in the majors.

    so? why post if you feel that way. I think the Cubs got what they could for Walker, there was NO line waiting to get him for over a year. I like the Maddux deal too. Because having an opinion is my right. Just like you have yours, however misguided it may be.

    Not that we know of, anyway. But don't be surprised to see Izturis at 3B, Ronny at SS and Neifi at 2B at some point. With Mabry at 1B. Woo hoo!

    I'm going to pretend I didn't see this post. There's nothing to like about having someone on the same offensive level as Neifi playing every day. Not to mention he'll be getting paid more than Neifi to be Neifi for 2+ more years. So basically you would of just kept Maddux, and let him walk for nothing? Izturis was a solid player in 04. .288 Average .330OBP 4hr 62RBI 25SB, not to mention the guy is excellent with the glove. Abso-stinkin-lutely. His OPS+ in that glorious 2004 season was 88. That exceeds any other season of his pathetic career by 20.

    YES! Izturis has a career 295 OBP and 69 OPS+. I'm feeling quite sick right now.
