    I'd deal Z only if it makes the Cubs better and IMO ARod at SS or Miggy Cabrera at RF would do that. AROD (if he can play SS) or Cabrera yes, Miggy not so sure. Miggy is Cabrera Actually, I was just looking at his stats from last year and he had a solid year. Let me strike that. But I'd rather have Cabrera for his age and he still hasn't peaked yet. No, Miggy is Cabrera -- Miguel Cabrera. I'm not saying Tejada and Cabrera are similar, Cuse was referring to Cabrera.

    Clark and Sanders are 2 of the biggest difference makers with the Super Bowl champions. It's a bittersweet day for a lot of Eastern Iowa.

    I was laughing about that as well. I think either of teh running backs deserved the MVP over Manning. Their O-line was probably the most impressive.

    Alford is doing a hell of a job with your team this year. Probably the best job he's ever done. Too bad nobody around here is noticing. Alford doesn't get noticed unless he's allowing accused sex offenders play on his team (and this is a rare year he isn't) Nothing about that post is remotely close to the truth. You know I used to think the same thing until I had the chance to talk to one of Steve's assistants in person. He claimed Steve was forced by the University to give the guy a second chance and thus he was really steamed when it happened again. That's pretty much what happened.

There's much, much more to the story than wikipedia is providing. Alford's got his shortcomings as a coach, but he's gotten an extremely bad rap for that incident.

    More times than not over the past 3 seasons. He's been an above average pitcher since making his debut and was phenomenal last season. I totally agree Wurtz is worth keeping on the roster. However, I have a minor quibble. He's a reliever, short of Eric Gange circa 2002 any reliever should be traded in the right deal. They are a dime a dozen. I don't disagree. There isn't a reliever that I wouldn't trade in the right deal, 02 Gagne included.

We all feel pretty mediocre, which is just what our team is; mediocre. I'll be honest -- I haven't read a single one of your posts since you changed your avatar.

    He'd be a #1. I think it'd be tough to take the #1 spot from Zambrano, but damn would that be a problem I'd like to have. I don't think Z will be the Cubs best pitcher this coming season. :? Hmmm...Lilly? Rich Hill 8-) We'll have 2nd half Rich Hill, 2003 Mark Prior, and fat Z. It's all good.
