  1. I would also like Cedeno at second, DeRo in left and Pie in center Cedeno at SS, DeRosa at 2B, and Murton in LF (Pie in CF). Cedeno at SS, Theriot at 2b, Johnson in LF, Pie in CF. And Fontenot at 3rd. Defense wins championships, baby! :) then why would you play Fontenot at all?
  2. more details needed. tv size, drinks available at home, snacks, presence of wife, etc. 52" flat screen hd. All sorts of wine, beer and booze. I think there's water and milk somewhere too. Wife's arrival time depends on how busy she is today, probably a bit before gametime (same as me). If she's home by first pitch she will most likely want to make a good dinner. My guess is I'm going to get home before her, and therefore get dog walking duty. I'll dvr the start of the game in case I don't get back in time, then fast forward up to real time. Luckily the pooch spent all weekend wrestling other pooches and will be fine with a shorter-than-usual walk. 65" HD. All sorts of wine and beer, plus the pause button. Wife is gone, so I have the kids by myself; most likely milk and tea until about 8:30. Then the wine and beer! Lets see a good performance Ladies! hmm, this seems like fun... 56" HD. fridge full of beer & a bottle of rum, no wife, no kids tonight, dogs are with them. let me know how the last 6 innings go...
  3. that would be incorrect according to baseball-reference updated years
  4. thanks, that's what I remember seeing before
  5. I was convinced I've seen it on baseball-reference.com before, but I can't find it there now
  6. Sean Deveney looks like a sex predator
  7. the headbands look ridiculous, and it's even worse when some idiots are wearing them in the 1st row right behind home and doing drunken karate moves. clearly Wrigley needs more snipers
  8. And "the government is lying about 9/11" and "LHO didn't shoot JFK alone." and NASCAR
  9. are Mets fans as obnoxious in public as they appear to be at the zoo?
  10. keep us posted, the going away party committee is meeting later this afternoon

  13. If this is a FJM-esque bit of sarcastic commentary, it's brilliant. If not...GUH?!? what's not to like about a sub-750 OPS in the PCL at age 26?
  14. couldn't agree more. I was always as big of a Sammy fan as there was, and I personally do not believe his growth was all natural. there's no proof I'm aware of that implicates him, and until there is he shouldn't have to "prove" his innocence.
  15. I think I just saw a notice on the ESPN crawl line that the game will be shown in all markets, including New York and Chicago. I hope this is true because even in Iowa City, with no chance of getting WCIU, it gets blacked out. I'd hate to have to go do laundry tonight instead of watching the game
  16. I'll be willing to bet he signs with the Cubs (figured it was my turn for ridiculous speculation)
  17. do they send Patterson or a pitcher down? I'd like to see Marshall sent back down so he can start games
  18. crap, they only come to cedar rapids once this year
  19. and I've nearly enjoyed every last one of them
  20. my guess is next year And will probably help towards only one AL East team making the playoffs this year. 80-85 wins this season would not surprise me one bit
