  2. Pat Hughes is about as good as it gets. Ron Santo is fun to listen to in moderation, mostly when he's having his Don Vito moments
  3. he dropped an f-bomb when he gave up that base hit to Lilly? yeah, I got nothing
  4. Tallest midget. That's only good for T-3rd in the American League. Sham division in a sham league. sham post in a sham thread on a sham forum on the sham interwebs
  5. Stone was really good with Harry. I too enjoyed his tips for youngsters. Bob cracks my ass up though. my only question about Bob is, did he ever manage the Arizona Diamondbacks?
  6. based on expectations I'm reading, I'm thinking probably Tennessee
  7. so I just tuned in -- did Selig just belch on his way to the podium?
  8. Consistent 96-98mph fastball is rated as a 60? What does it take to get to 70 or 80? Movement. Maybe command of it too, I can't remember if that's considered. who needs movement at 98?

  10. No, in fact this seems to be the only reason so many people hate him. who hates him? i have read people questioning his dominance here...but nothing verging on hatred... i will admit though that i would love to see a little bit of passion from the guy...i saw some from lilly the other night...that was nice to see...i used to think he was a robot last year until he slammed his glove in the NLDS what the hell does passion have to do with being a good major league starting pitcher?
  11. I've pointed this out in each of these 2nd favorite team threads, but I hate all teams in baseball equally, Cubs included
  12. tell that to Zambrano/Sabathia
  13. are we all thinking of the same Rich Hill? yes we are...i know he is beloved on here...but...i guess we will just have to agree to disagree he's beloved because he was the best pitcher in the rotation for the last half of 2006 through the end of last year. ignoring that is foolish
  14. Business as usual in Iowa City. pretty much
  15. most exciting recent news from the Hawkeye camp: http://www.press-citizen.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080605/NEWS01/806050329/1079
  16. And you wait until now to share this information with us? he told all the right people at the time
  17. it might help if you read his explanation for the rankings first
  18. wait until Jerry Hairston, Jr remembers he's Jerry Hairston, Jr
  19. Does anyone know if anything like that has ever happened? Two teams clinching the division and wild card while playing a series against each other. That would be kind of neat. The Yankees and Red Sox did that in 2005 I believe. on the last day of the season, wasn't it?
  20. those 5 AAA games must have shown he's a new man
