  2. I was going to break it down earlier, but I was lazy. his turnaround actually started with his last 2 starts in April (14 IP, 1 ER). considering he had back-to-back starts in early April giving up 9 ER in each, his numbers look pretty good. he's given up 2 runs or less in 6 of his last 9 starts, and gave up 4 runs in each of the other 3.
  3. I try to imagine everyone as The Todd. it helps me get through the day

  5. my son called dibs on the 1st ball I get. the only way I'm taking a ball home is if he's not there, and I'm giving it to him when I get home.
  6. Vinny Del Negro. now there's a blast from the past that could have stayed there
  7. my daughter (just turned 6) often says the following during random moments, not necessarily during Cubs games: "GEOVANY SOTO!" "Big Z" "Fukudome is my homie" "DeRo is my hero"
  8. Don't they have like the second worst record in MLB? KC is pretty bad. they're still one of the best teams in western Missouri
  9. I wouldn't be opposed to giving up Vitters, Colvin, Ceda, and Samardzija for Sabathia, but I'd be a lot happier if they could meet in the middle
  10. I was hoping to see Ryan Harvey listed as a pitcher on Boise's roster
  11. I would like to introduce you to one of my good friends -- http://www.baseball-reference.com/
  12. for the love of pete, it only takes a few seconds to look up his splits: opponent = CHC... 220/306/345/651
  13. Problem with skipping Demp would make him concious of it and weigh on his mind. A "I'm doing so well why did they skip me when my arm is doing fine" thing. When a guy is doing well I will always say do everything you can to not throw him for a loop and just keep treating him the same. or... and here's a crazy idea... the idea could be thrown out there that he was being skipped to ensure he stays fresh because he hasn't been a full-time starter in a few years
  14. if you look closely at the video from our last home game, you can clearly see an ace of spaces fall out of Fukudome's sleeve when he took the field in the top of the 6th
  15. ditto. I'm loving the start but feel I'm going to hate the finish
  16. great, now umfan will start another injury thread. thanks for the jinx

  18. and he also thinks Avery still has a shot at the Bulls head coaching job
  19. damn, he really wants this team ETA: and the stadium
  20. why in the name of all that is holy was Kerry Wood throwing sliders to Juan Pierre? I don't care what the hell any of you say, I like Jim Edmonds and hope he keeps hitting
  21. IsoP of 247 is nice pop but Keedy's 252 translates into "not a whole lot of power"? well, Keedy's a first basemen while Jones is a RF, and also, I'm eyeballing these. I'll get you a calculator for your birthday
  22. I love these late starts when the kids have games at night
  23. IsoP of 247 is nice pop but Keedy's 252 translates into "not a whole lot of power"?
  24. in other words, the exact opposite of the other Macias we know
