    Donaldson's big value is in his draft spot and good numbers at Boise. he struggled mightily with Peoria this season. with Soto, Castillo, and Bautista having monster seasons, Donaldson was becoming an even bigger long shot to make it here anyway.

    I think it's instructive to realize that, on the whole, the rest of the country would like the Brewers to beat us. Yes there are a lot of Cub fans out there. But with that comes many more Cub haters. The national media probably has quite a few. Secretly, many people are probably out there rooting for a Harden injury.     no. my disdain for Bonds has little to do with whether or not he's still using. he's beyond lousy defensively, can't play every day, and in a post-steroid world his age is screaming major injury. provided Edmonds stays healthy, I see no pressing need for offensive upgrades to the outfield unless the Rockies decide to unload Holliday

    Wasn't Oakland just a middle-man there? They got Barrett from Montreal for a ptbnl and the next day traded him to Chicago for Miller. I don't know who the ptbnl was, but I thought that was just a slightly delayed 3-team trade. Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly. Miller was traded to Oakland for a PTBNL, Barrett was traded to the Cubs for a PTBNL, and they each turned out to be that player nearly the same day (if not the same day). it confused me to the point where my brain hurt
