    Baker should also sometime drop a line about the drastic difference in talent put on the field in 03 vs 02. I didn't stay at a holiday inn express or nothing, but I think that may have had a lot more to do with the team being a whole bunch better that 1st year than his attitude

    Reed Johnson has also played a mean LF. DeRosa's a bum out there, though. The Cubs are only 8-13 with him out there. Also, when Lee hasn't played 1B, the Cubs are 1-4. OH SNAP

    Why would you say that? If nothing else is on, I'll put on the Dodgers game on Extra Innings just to listen to Vin. His voice is just so... baseball. I miss the days when Vin would do national broadcasts. he's easily one of my all-time favorites.

    fearless week 1 prediction... wait for it... Iowa will beat Maine in ugly fashion and all of the old farmers will say "maybe this team ain't so bad". in all honesty, I have no idea where to put this team. I think most have picked them around 7th in the Big Ten, but with a solid running game they could easily crack the top tier. I'm a big fan of the Shonn Greene and want a big season from him

    It's not exactly surprising. Soriano has missed 8 weeks. I don't believe games played would have an impact on any of those calculations
