  1. there's a waiting list
  2. Pat said he's staying in the game. Wow, I could've sworn CB was looking at him when he made the motion, guess not. no, he was basically pointing at 1st and yelling at Sally to go straight there
  3. contusion, probably from that damn belt. they're so unforgiving
  4. I think you're right Why are you quoting yourself? because I can
  5. This is probably nitpicking, but Gallardo didn't tear both ACLs -- he only tore his right ACL in the game against the Cubs. The other injury you're thinking of is probably the arthroscopic knee surgery he had on his left knee during Spring Training to clean up some torn cartilage...a relatively minor procedure (although the saying "there's no such thing as minor surgery" comes to mind). I agree that it's incredibly stupid to rush him back, though. Apparently his knee is almost full-strength, but he needs to build up his arm strength again. The problem is, with minor league seasons wrapping up soon, he might not have anywhere to go on rehab assignments. Considering the Brewers' future pretty much rests on that surgically-repaired knee (which also happens to be his plant leg), I'd be more apt to let him continue his rehab on his own throughout the rest of the season and come back full strength for the start of Spring Training. It'd be nice to have him in the bullpen, but it's not necessary to make the playoffs, and it'd be crippling to the franchise if he wound up with an arm injury because he's overcompensating for a weak leg. and enter next season without him (and Sheets and Sabathia)
  6. you had to bring it up...
  7. I like it when the IBB comes back to bite. I hope it happens here
  8. I think its kinda good because I think it would seem stupid to play a team 17 times in the regular season and then play them again right away in the NLDS, but then again, it seems like the Wild Card winner is in the same division as the team with the best record almost every year, and I think that's bad. IMO they should just seed them 1-4 and have 1 v. 4 and 2 v. 3 no matter what division they are from. I just think there should be some value to winning the division no matter how bad the record is for the division winner. the value is in that they get to play another series (or more) while the rest of their division doesn't. the Diamondbacks/Dodgers barely hovering over 500 do not deserve HFA over a team like the Brewers just because they won their weak division.
  9. 3.85 for the season, 12th in MLB, 5th in NL ETA: that may have been before today's games as well and it was before the DH yesterday... 3.77 for the season, 9th in MLB, 5th in NL
  10. since the 1st place WC team is the Brewers, it's determining how many games up we are on the 2nd place WC team. if the Brewers take the division lead, we become the WC leaders
  11. Kevin Hart came up this year and posted a 7.91 ERA with 14K and 13BB in 19.3 IP. (for those of you too lazy to look that one up)
  12. EqA (considers batting as well as baserunning): Edmonds: 316 Soriano: 297 Ramirez: 294 Soto: 288 DeRosa: 285 Lee: 279 Theriot: 271 Fukudome: 267
  13. if the Cubs are still at Wrigley, I don't think anyone would want to see the Olympics held there. a 2 week road trip isn't all that desirable
  14. I'm assuming it's the more than 45 days part that gets him. He's never gone past 50IP. But it says during the period of a 25-player limit, which is before September. In 06 he was on the team for 55 games or so when he was up for August and September, but the 25 player limit is dropped in September, right? I'm officially confused Doesn't matter. The first part says "exceeded 50 innings pitched in the major leagues" and Volquez had 80 coming into this year. It doesn't say "in one season" so I would assume that to mean 50 career innings pitched, which he has surpassed. that is correct
  15. I hope Ned keeps riding CC hard. Let him go for another CG, please
  16. 3-run triple for Hart, 6-1 Brewers
