  1. glad that's settled
  2. I hope he has better command than that.
  3. does NYU have a football team?
  4. It's a rare thing when game threads turn out this awesome.
  5. Why? That bar sucks. I live 2 blocks from there though. That sucks I was so close to the Cup and the Hawks and didn't even know it. There's a lesson to be learned there.
  6. Is gameday off, or is Tracy swinging at everything?
  7. 07-08 - 6.1M 08-09 - 6.4M 09-10 - 6.5M (est) I'm still trying to find the site where I got that, the numbers just stuck in my head.
  8. It's not even really that popular outside of Ames. oh bull [expletive]. i love when hawkeye fans act like they're above the iowa/isu game. It pales in comparison to pretty much all Big Ten games.
  9. How 'bout you give me $450 and I'll tell people that I let you and Fred sit next to me?
  10. the notre dame/notre dame state rivalry probably wouldn't catch on
  11. It's not even really that popular outside of Ames.
  12. My goodness, step away for a bit to do some actual work and miss a lot... There are so many things wrong with what you posted that I wouldn't know where to begin.
  13. They had the reporter on the radio this morning, and he didn't catch on until after the fact. He had no idea. Who is Buck? He apologizes to "Buck" around the 4:24 mark, but I have no clue who that is.
  14. Does Brad Banks still have a shot? How far back does this go?
  15. Trammell's numbers are a little skewed because of his first season when the team was desperately trying everything they could to score runs, but it is true that his teams were near the top of the league during his tenure in sac bunts. I don't know how he would handle more talented teams than the ones he had so I think the book might still be out on him. The one advantage I see with Trammell over somebody like Lou is that Trammell seems to be genuinely interested in developing younger players. Oh, and he actually watches the ball games. Whether or not he would be better than Sandberg, I have no idea. For me, it all starts with the quality of players put on the roster. If there were a GM in place who was doing a better and more consistent job, I really don't care who the manager is as long as he has some sort of sense on how to manage the entire pitching staff or at least defer to Larry. Hell, load the roster and let Larry run the show.
  16. Why must people throw beer, why, why? it's a sad, sad state of affairs
  17. Mineaswell just rename the NCAA to the Big 10 Conference
  18. Well, there is the rumor that they're inviting UT and aTm. Would you want UT if it meant Tech had to come with them and aTm? I would. I'd take UTEP if it was somehow the only way to get UT.
  19. I'm still wondering why everyone is allergic to KU in this. Money. There aren't enough people in Kansas to dramatically shift profits, and their football team isn't exactly rich in tradition. Neither are Mizzou, Oklahoma State, or Texas Tech. KU at least gets TV sets with their basketball team. Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas all have bigger populations. It's not about people in Montana watching because Kansas is playing, the BTN gets money based on the population of the state where the school is. The history is Nebraska's saving grace.

  21. and some dude on twitter said it ain't true
  22. I can't wait for the conference football championship and basketball tournament.
  23. As TT said, it could have been the 4 hitter instead of the 3 hitter, but otherwise that's exactly what happened. The runners beforehand reached base and then Sandberg had a sac bunt laid down to move the runners over. If there was another reason for doing it, I haven't heard Ryno give why. But seriously, take Sandberg's name out of the equation. Wouldn't you think something unusual happened here? A missed sign? An attempt at a bunt base hit? There's plenty of explanations that make more sense than "Sandberg was giving up an out to move his base runners over with his 4 hitter so his 5 hitter could drive them in". Ty Wright spent the vast majority of the season batting 3-5 and had 7 sac bunts. He was also 3 for 7 bunting without those sacs so he was either bunting for a hit more often than he should or trying to sacrifice a bunch more. Based on Sandberg's comments in the past, I would go with the latter.
  24. My apologies if this has been posted already since I don't read this thread... http://estaticos01.marca.com/multimedia/graficos/futbol/2010/mundial/calendariomundialingles.swf
