Not exactly. He had it written in there that the A's must non-tender him when the 4 years were up so he could reach free agency instead of going through arbitration. Plus he signed in the offseason before QOs were even a thing so I don't know how that would work.

To be fair, there probably aren't a whole lot of people outside of the KC metro area that give a [expletive] about the Royals. They won the friggin WS, and I'd struggle to name 5 players.

He would be the first with a Mariner cap unless I'm forgetting someone. Nope, but one of their announcers got the Frick award not that long ago so there's that. -
It's almost difficult to believe he wrote it. Maybe. I do know several people with poor spoken English who are excellent writers. It's not like it was particularly well-written as is and it was posted by a publication that has an editorial staff vs. on his his instagram or something, so I think it's possible that it wasn't ghostwritten. For me it was less of a language thing and more that I doubt any athlete actually wrote it when something like that comes out. Now I'm curious -- why not? Because most athletes are big dumb dummies.
