  1. I'd take him. Not an injury risk, OPS over 800 guaranteed, above average defense. I'd be willing to be he still has 3-4 good years left.
  2. The only way Neifi does not bat 2nd is if Walker is still around. I am starting to believe that Ronny will be the everyday SS, and I think he'll probably get the chance at #2 because he's RH. Walker will be bumped down to #6 to get in that "run producing spot" that Dusty likes him in.
  3. Interesting that you want proven power, but you also say no to a guy with 303 career HR's...
  4. Depends. If a Cubs prospect fails the physical and Hendry gives up another good one, you'll see a lot of the same. If Pierre fails his physical and the trade falls through, I'll be happy. I agree, but I wanted to know what will happen to the thread? I think it will take off faster than the Bobby Howry rumor thread.
  5. We as in Cubs management, or we as in you and I? Cuz, I'd pull the trigger on that one.
  6. That is correct. I found this is the official MLB rules:
  7. What will happen to this thread if one of the parties involved fails his physical?
  8. I've thought the same thing since last year. I am not a fan of Hill, and I do not believe he will be a star in this league. Hendry talks as though he's the next coming of Babe Ruth, and I hope it's just to land a Hill for Tejada and cash deal. Wow, now I'm a little crazy...
  9. Because Rich Hill is untouchable. Which is more accurate: untouchable or overrated?
  10. None here either, but if it lands a bat like player C without unloading the farm, I'd welcome him with open arms (with the salary relief, of course).
  11. You should be careful when mentioning the words speed and Neifi together. Neifi was up there because he could bunt, I guess (I have no other logical explanation).
  12. I agree goony, but I'm not sure how much they'll have to overpay for Abreu or Dunn. If it truly costs Prior/Zambrano to get Abreu, I'll pass. But I would pursue every angle possible with him, because he would be a true difference maker and would immediately upgrade this offense. As far as Dunn, I have no idea right now. But with Casey's trade, it will probably take much more to land Dunn. How about player C with Pitcher V and salary relief?
  13. Brian Roberts credited his new glare-reducing contact lenses as the reason for him "seeing the ball better". Not saying there's a lot to it, but his numbers took a pretty nice jump last year.
  14. Thanks. I had no idea such a stat existed, but then again, I see that quite often from you. :)
  15. That stat's a bit confusing to me. What is the league average for balls fielded by infielders. My guess is if it's fielded, everyone's average would be quite low.
  16. Pickoffs are only a pitcher's stat as far as I know.
  17. I tried to pick players we have a realistic shot of getting. From all reports I've heard, the Cus aren't a match for Mr. Abreu. For the same reason, Adam Dunn isn't on the list. D'oh! I guess I'll take C.
  18. Can I pick H (assuming it doesn't cost Prior or Z)? 2005: 286/405/474 Bats: Left Career: 303/411/512 Age:31
  19. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-051206cubs,1,1301681.story?coll=cs-cubs-headlines It says there are two offers on the table. One for Pierre, and one for several Cub players for one player in return - then says the Cubs have also had talks with Tampa for Lugo and Huff. George Offman was on the radio this morning and said there's another offer on the table from Hendry but no one is sure exactly who it is to yet - "but they've been in talks with the Dodgers, Rangers, Nationals, etc." To me, that reads as the other deal is for either Huff or Lugo. Nope, gotta be Tejada.
  20. Didn't he drop from BP's #1 overall prospect to something like #4 in the Braves list?
  21. Sure, but after we take care of RF, can we concentrate on CF?
  22. My buddy the O's fan suggests that Javy would become the DH and backup catcher.
  23. I can't believe this one snuck through. I hope you meant "oh"...
  24. I know what he meant. I made a joke about what goony wrote. Really? Because what you wrote doesn't relate to that at all. I guess my reading comprehension skills are really bad. Wow. Go back to bed if you're going to have that attitude. It's not necessary.
