  1. Believe what you want. You want him, I don't. I think he's a timebomb. Why not a stronger push for JD Drew? Don't they play about as often? Aren't Drew's numbers far superior? Doesn't Drew play RF? For what it's worth, I have no respect for Lugo either.
  2. Well, at least Jones would be in the lineup consistently. I'd take Jones playing 150+ games over Bradley for 80 and Mabry for 80. Edit: I am in no way advocating Jacque Jones. I also think he would be a terrible option.
  3. Just in case anyone's counting, I do NOT want Bradley. Never have, never will. If he was ever able to produce at a high level for at least 2-3 seasons AND played in 150+ games, I would then consider lightening my opinion of him. As it stands now, the guy can't stay healthy and can barely stay out of jail. Let him go to Toronto or Oakland or anywhere else but the northside of Chicago. Bradley has been charged with as many crimes as the pope. That story is overblown. If you're concerned about him being healthy that's one thing, but the guy has produced at a high level for the last several years when he's out there, and contrary to what some think he is not the devil incarnate. That story or those stories? One incident is one thing, repeated character flaws are another.
  4. If he were a real gamer like david eckstein, he would have played through it. :| If El Caballo rammed into Eckstein that hard, we would have been reading an obituary, not about a trip to the DL.
  5. So Tejada will make the Cubs 46 games better? Tejada and "some scrub" in RF.
  6. Same here. B&B have irritated me for the last time with "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" and their constant belittling of callers. I still cannot understand how Murph is employed in talk radio, he throws out some of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. Buffone gives me the heebie-jeebies.
  7. I especially liked the blurb questioning whether or not Walker could stay healthy. When has he been considered an injury risk? Maybe it was that time that the big huge fat guy from Milwaukee plowed into him. Most people would have just rubbed some dirt on that and continued playing, I'm sure.
  8. Let's put a spin on this and see how people think the offseason has gone for any/all teams. I give the Red Sox an A and the Marlins get an A- because they're getting an awful lot of talent back in their dealings (sure, it'll be a while before they're good again, but they're doing well with what they've been directed to do). Other than that, nobody has really blown me away with their moves.
  9. Sure, if the Stros throw in Oswalt. Otherwise, I don't think I'd do the deal.
  10. 1. Bradley is younger 2. Bradley is faster 3. Bradley is a better defender 4. Bradley is a switch-hitter 5. Bradley has (a bit) more power Other than that, they're identical.....I'd rather have Bradley as my 2 hitter than Walker, by a comfortable margin. Position-specific production be damned. But we can't just ignore position-specific production. If we trade Walker for Bradley, who plays second? Neifi Perez? Neifi would be a better defender at second, but the team would suffer because of Neifi's nonexistent offense. As for the Bradley arguments: 1. Bradley is younger, but it doesn't really matter since he'll be a free agent in 2007 as will Walker. 2. Bradley's stolen base % is .66 and Walker's is .64. Neither are anything to write home about. 3. Bradley's defense is certainly better than Walker's, but he'd be playing RF, where he has been very average thus far in his career. 4. Neifi Perez and Jose Macias are also switch hitters. 5. Bradley's IsoP is slightly better than Walker's, but Walker's is significantly better than Neifi's. All that said, I would have much rather had Bradley than Pierre. Bradley's career OBP is mighty nice. 6. Bradley is much, much more likely to miss a significant amount of time during the season because of miscellaneous jailings and court appearances.
  11. Seriously, why Elarton? He's been horrible over the years. You have pretty high expectations. I guess that's to be expected. You do post here. :? The last two years in Cleveland he's been decent (NL-equivalent ERA just above 4). Maybe I do have high expectations. I fully expect Rusch to be better than Elarton. I'd almost expect Koronka to be better, and I think he's a waste of a 40 man spot.
  12. Erin Andrews? Thea maybe.

  14. Most people in Iowa dislike Steve Alford more than they dislike The Score. Furthermore, if you have been fooled into believing this was all about Steve Alford, you need to learn the rest of the story.
  15. I think the 40 page Bobby Howry thread was out of control. There have been hundreds (guess) of pages on Dunn with no basis for fact. How is this any different? The Dunn thread over the summer at least had some radio talk and speculation behind it....AND, Hendry HAD contacted the Reds - that's the difference. Hendry has not made any contacts about Tejada, NOR has there been any speculation. As for Howry, he's a cub now - which is the obvious difference..... Actually, a few have reported that XM stated the Cubs have contacted the O's about Miggy. I believe that qualifies as contacts and speculation.

  17. They would have enough money for Washburn and Tejada if Patterson is sent somewhere in a deal for prospects.
  18. I know I'll catch some crap for saying this, but the upgrade at SS would almost be enough to keep Patterson and put him in RF.
  19. I'm very worried about our starting pitching for the same reasons -- we have Wood, Williams, and Maddux and if someone can't go, we have Rusch.
  20. If we're going to acquire a SP, I'd rather have Washburn. WHIP, ERA, BAA are all very similar to Millwood, and he'd probably be a bit cheaper.
  21. Exactly! Even if George did what some claim he did, who cares? If you have confidential information regarding this or that and you want nobody else to find out, DO NOT CONFIDE IN A REPORTER OR OTHER MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA!
  22. I do not mean this with any disrespect, backhandedness, sarcasm, or anything other than a sincere desire to know the answer. Do you work for The Score or have friends or relatives who do? I have never come across someone who is more pro-Score than you. Like I said, no disrespect, just curiosity.
