  1. I don't think Ohman's spot is in question. My guess is, if Ryu makes the team it's at the expense of Welleymeyer or Wuertz. Unfortunately,Williamson just left the game with what looks to be an injury so, there maybe an opening.
  2. Williamson is leaving the game after a discussion with the trainer. Eyre is coming into the game.
  3. Uh oh, is Williamson hurt? Santo seems to think so...
  4. No it's, Thom Brenneman and Mark Grace, the AZ crew.
  5. My God, do road announcers always have to bring up the "Bartman incident" everytime their team plays the Cubs?
  6. As nice as that sounds, if the Red Sox let us have him, we'd be stuck with him. It would almost force us to carry way too many middle infielders. Well, if the Cubs have been seriously looking at Bynum, as Bruce Levine suggested, then Tony would take that spot.
  7. That makes no sense, because it had been known all along that he wouldn't be ready to start the season. There may be a clause requiring him to be added to the 40-man (as opposed to 25-man) roster. Hold up, I meant to say "40 man roster." I just re-read my post. Disregard the 25 man comment.
  8. Wood has a full no trade clause for 2006 and it's unlikely that he would agree to a trade. Plus, he will have to pitch very well to convince other teams that he's healthy (and valuable).
  9. IIRC, a sticking point of Miller's signing was that he had to be added to the 25 man roster by Opening Day. Thus, per their agreement, I don't think the Cubs have the option to place him on the DL. Does anyody have any word on Miller's velocity yet? I don't think there's anything on record. He, like Wood, has been pitching behind the scenes. We should learn more as he progresses in his rehab. I'd be willing to bet that he pitches a game or two in the Minors prior to his first Cubs' start.

  11. I agree. The odds on the Cards and the Cubs working out a deal for a rule 5 guy that can't stick must be astronomical. I doubt Mateo would have been the player that prevents the Cubs and Cards from working out a deal. Chances are...the Cards did NOT like what they saw from Mateo and we all too glad to return him to the Cubs. Not according to the Cardinals per mlb.com. Well, in that case, the Cubs have to make sure that no deal is worked out.
  12. I am sure that is just more of that stinking Boston media misinformation on EVERY player that leaves. Now they even have his agent in on it! When will it stop!?!?!
  13. ESPN Insider's Rumor Central reports that Juan is missing and his agent can't reach him...
  14. Bynum is normally a second baseman but the A's have been playing him in the outfield; perhaps to show his versatility. He's also out of options... Rotoworld seems to think that the Rockies are also interested in his services.
  15. I'm not sure if it's already been mentioned, but ESPN AM 1000 reported that DLee left camp because of an illness with his grandfather.
  16. Bruce Levine says the Cubs have been talking to Oakland about Bynum as an additional backup middle infielder (someone more than Perez). Hmmm, this makes me think Walker might be traded soon.
  17. I couldn't find anything to "click" to activate any sort of live feed. Are you actaully listening to it right now? There's a "listen" link on the page. I'm not listening but sometimes my firewall doesn't allow me to get internet radio so I wanted to see if it worked for anyone else. I'm at home (no firewall but I do have 2 cats). The listen link didn't do anything. Looks like the feed is down. Oh well... The Cubs/Tribune saving money on these Spring games is driving me crazy. Thankfully, the season starts soon.

  19. I'm not sure if this will work for anyone else but see if you can listen here Stations aren't suppose to broadcast games for free but this is Spring Training.
  20. I don't think there is Gameday Audio for this game. At least there's no link here
  21. I'm confused, you say it's written in first person, but that's because it's actually written by Matt Murton, right? Your wording just threw me off . . . Yup  :D
