  1. Barrett should have come home on that ground ball.
  2. Griffey pulled another 'I look like I'm gonna catch the ball' It bounced off his glove Their OF is lazy
  3. Burny doubles Barrett to third b/c Griffey had a bead on that ball pitcher change No outs
  4. Valentine with a 2 run homer. Come on Greg, the QS is still in reach.
  5. Argh! Rammy was robbed down the 3rdbase line
  6. D Lee robbed of a double but he will get the infield hit.
  7. He couldnt tell if Muton's ball was going to be caught so he had to wait. Edit: Oops wrong quote. This is for the person that asked why Ronny didnt advance
  8. Am I the only corny person here or do others love hearing the WGN Cubs song? LOL, "Everybody loves the Cubs. Everybody loves the Cubs. It's baseball time again here on WGN..." Ok, I'm geeky like that but I like the song and know all the words. :D Let's play ball
  9. That must mean we're trading him for Lee! LOL
  10. Dusty actually got it right for once!! That is my the lineup I have wanted since Murton came up. The correct 1-2, Lee followed by ARam, Barett batting in the meat of the lineup, and a nice rlrl at the bottom of the lineup. I have got to give dusty credit here. On a side note, did anyone else notice dunn is playing first today? Nope, that one missed me. Hmmm, there's less chance for injury at firstbase besides, he's not the best OF in the world...
  11. Hey gang, let's not get too positive or confident I'm worried about Maddux serving up the long ball in this park! We need 3 out of 4 from this pathetic team.
  12. Dunn for just CC. Hendry better be on the phone because we can definitely put together a better package. Too many rumors going around. My head hurts. Yeah but I'm not for raiding our system for one guy. If the Reds are willing to get less we shouldn't be serving up all our goodies. LOL
  13. That can't be true. The Reds recently turned down a trade for Sabathia for Joe Randa. Dunn>>>>>>>Randa I'm just telling you what they said on the radio in Cincy. You're welcome to check out the broadcast. No. I'm not saying you're giving false info. I think the report is false. Sorry for the confusion. It's ok. I just dont want to be labeled as someone who posts false information. I was just passing along something that others can check out. Thanks for clarifying
  14. What are you talking about? A lot of this information is easily confirmed because it is in the public domain...
  15. That can't be true. The Reds recently turned down a trade for Sabathia for Joe Randa. Dunn>>>>>>>Randa I'm just telling you what they said on the radio in Cincy. You're welcome to check out the broadcast.
  16. On another note, there is another report/rumor that the Reds have inquired about trading Adam Dunn for the Indians' CC Sabathia straight up. I just heard it at the beginning of the 7/19 MLB Gameday Audio broadcast for WLW. The report was not confirmed by the Reds but if true, Hendry would definitely be giving up too much in Patterson, Mitre, and Hill.
  17. Exactly! Brenneman and McCoy also hinted that O'Brien was being unreasonable with his asking price and flip flopping because O'Brien stated that he wasn't going to trade young players (including Dunn) yet he is obviously entertaining the idea of trades.
  18. I understand your point but I think they were being honest because they understand the value of Hill. For all their problems, both Patterson and Mitre can play in the majors (no doubt Corey would still be in the Bigs if he played elsewhere) and Rich Hill is a frontline prospect. Maybe we as fans are overvaluing Dunn by thinking we should readily giveup 2 major league players and a number one prospect for him...
  19. I know this thread has morphed into a greater discussion on the freedoms of posting on NSBB but if anyone is interested, and has a subscription to MLB's Gameday Audio, you can listen to the Reds (WLW) call from yesterday's game where Marty and Steve talk briefly about the off-air discussion they had with Jim Hendry. The trade topic starts at 1 hour and 14 mintues into the programming. To Summarize, Marty said he asked Hendry about the rumor of a Dunn trade for CPat, Mitre, and Hill. According to Marty Brenneman, Hendry said it was too steep and both Marty and Steve agreed that including Hill in the deal was too high of a price for Dunn considering Hill is now the best arm in our system... Edit: Also included in the radio discussion was a reporter Hal Mc Coy
  20. Poster said he had a source telling him a Dunn for Patterson, Mitre, Hill deal was going to be completed sometime between last night and tomorrow evening....lots of speculation...today, he came on and said he still expects it to be done by tomorrow evening, but Bruce Miles said nothing is going on right now...supposedly, the Reds radio announcer asked Hendry tonight about that rumor, Hendry said it was too steep of a price. and most importantly (and infuriating) Bruce said Hendry wouldnt trade Hill for Dunn straight up :pukel: I can understand why Hendry would be hesitant do make this trade. Hill has greater value because he's lefthanded plus, he has a curveball that has been compared to Zito's. From what I understand, he has the most strikeouts of any pitcher in the minor leagues (not just the Cubs farm system) and in 5 -2/3 innings of MLB time he fanned 9. All of that makes him pretty valuable. I think that any GM would think twice about doing that deal within his own division; It's bad enough that Dontrelle Willis is in the NL the Cubs don't want to face Rich Hill in the Central.
