  1. I think the cubs have more talent than the Mets, their just underachieving.
  2. Steve Lyons is a beacon of hope in this telecast
  3. Yeah, they're confusing our Maddux with the mid-1990s Maddog Except the stats they showed on Maddux vs. the Mets were from 2001 on.. True but he's deteriorated quickly 'an uncharacteristic 27 pitch inning for Maddux" says the announcer That's the 2005 Maddux
  4. Yeah, they're confusing our Maddux with the mid-1990s Maddog
  5. Floyd strikes out swinging. BIG out one more...
  6. I think they had planned on him sitting today and starting tommorow. They don't want to push him too much too soon. For what it's worth, Dusty also said, during the pregame, that Nomar is available later in the game.
  7. Can Fox do a Cubs game without that stupid goat and people crying in the intro??? :x
  8. We don't merit McCarver and Buck (LOL) who no doubt are doing the Braves vs Cardinals. We get the scary looking second fiddle FOX guys.
  9. Sorry, I didnt check the size after I posted it. No time to edit so I switched it back...
  10. I doubt that's the case: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050805&content_id=1159003&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
  11. The Giants now lead Houston 3-0 in the 4th
  12. sadly, no... From the injury update thread: Off-Season Surgery Likely for Wood the Doctor's report after Wood's latest MRI showed no problem. i think we all waited breathlessly for this report. hence the 15 day DL (retro-active). what you are quoting is quite obviously the 'Cub spin' on the situation, and a 'face saving' measure for a franchise mainstay... a MLB trainer is not a Doctor. he(she) is a Cub employee. (and if history is any teacher, not nec. a credible source for injury diagnosis.) Wood has complained about the same 'maladies' all year. why wouldn't the initial MRI in ST have pointed out the "so-called" labrum problem, and why wouldn't that problem have been addressed during Wood's extended stay on the DL earlier this year? I remain adament in my position. Wood is a China Doll with the pain threshold of a 10 year old girl. (or so it would appear to this fan)... What's really obvious is you have a bias against Wood. How do you explain the wild swings in velocity during his last start? It couldn't possibly be due to an issue with his shoulder... If Kerry had pushed the issue, he could have gone under the knife already but he's opted to help the team. Oh, yeah to prove my earlier point about pain, here is just a reminder of what actually happened with the cortisone shot: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050721&content_id=1139852&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
