sadly, no... From the injury update thread: Off-Season Surgery Likely for Wood the Doctor's report after Wood's latest MRI showed no problem. i think we all waited breathlessly for this report. hence the 15 day DL (retro-active). what you are quoting is quite obviously the 'Cub spin' on the situation, and a 'face saving' measure for a franchise mainstay... a MLB trainer is not a Doctor. he(she) is a Cub employee. (and if history is any teacher, not nec. a credible source for injury diagnosis.) Wood has complained about the same 'maladies' all year. why wouldn't the initial MRI in ST have pointed out the "so-called" labrum problem, and why wouldn't that problem have been addressed during Wood's extended stay on the DL earlier this year? I remain adament in my position. Wood is a China Doll with the pain threshold of a 10 year old girl. (or so it would appear to this fan)... What's really obvious is you have a bias against Wood. How do you explain the wild swings in velocity during his last start? It couldn't possibly be due to an issue with his shoulder... If Kerry had pushed the issue, he could have gone under the knife already but he's opted to help the team. Oh, yeah to prove my earlier point about pain, here is just a reminder of what actually happened with the cortisone shot: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050721&content_id=1139852&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
